• Principle of Islamic administration are derived from the Quran and Sunnah.
• Major human resource functions include recruitment, selection, compensation & etc.

• One of the most complicated task in any organization. • Influence of favouritism and nepotism.
• Importance of competence and honesty of a job candidate

One of the two women said: O my father! Hire him! For the best (man) that thou canst hire is the strong, the trustworthy.

“He whoever hires a person and knows that there is another one who is more qualified than him has betrayed God and His Prophet and the

PRINCIPLES OF SELECTION IN ISLAM
1. Justice
• To treat or to put a person or a thing at their right place.
• Favouritism and egoism reflect injustice and treachery PRINCIPLES OF SELECTION IN ISLAM
2. Competency
• An employee selected based on his competency • An individual should not be appointed based on friendship ties, wealth, race & etc.

3. Honesty
• Applicant and recruiter have to be honest
• To ensure right decisions and judgment are made • Honesty can prevent the recruiter from doing any undesired/unlawful actions

4. Forbids giving excessive workload
• Islam forbids assignment of work that will exceed the individual’s capacity
• An employee may not be able to perform the assigned job well due to excessive workload/own limitations
• It may harm him and the organization

COMPENSATION IN
ISLAM

Meaning
• Any type of reward or what employees receive in exchange for performing organizational task or for their contribution to the organization.

Purpose
• To appreciate employees’ hard work and their dedication in performing their job.
• To motivate them to work efficiently.
