The reasons the other theories are incorrect is simple. The Clovis People simply couldn't wipe out all the Mega-beasts on their own. This is correct for climate change as well. Also, there were 35 total species of Mega-beasts. There is no possible way I have heard as of yet that the meteor could have wiped out all the mega-beasts on its own. Ergo, this lead me to the theory that all three are correct and also simultaneously incorrect. They are correct in the sense that they played a part in the mass mega-beast extinction, but they are incorrect in the sense that they didn’t -couldn't- do it alone.…

After Columbus’ voyage to the New World in 1492, contact between three types of people—Europeans, Native Americans, and Africans—was accelerated. Each, remaining relatively isolated from the others, had established independent cultures and societal characteristics. It was almost unavoidable that when these peoples came into contact, differences in interests could arise that could in turn lead to conflict. Clashes like those along with economic and trade interests frequently led to one member of a group to be taken captive by members of another. Two examples that illustrate this are Mary Rowlandson, a white woman captured by Native Americans, and Olaudah Equiano, an African captured by white slave traders. Both had to adjust to an unfamiliar environment during their captivities, but in terms of religion, Rowlandson maintained and had her Christian beliefs reinforced during her captivity, while Equiano adopted the religious beliefs of his captors. Their experiences show how English religion and culture in particular came to dominate many others in the Atlantic World.…

While reading about Equiano Olaudah and what he had been through really helped me understand how strong and smart he was, and in the end he represented Africans and make them proud because back then I’m sure it was hard for Africans to show people/whites who they are and what they are capable of, and Equiano showed people that Africans are more than just slaves. He represented Africans by his desire for freedom while he was in slavery, also his desire to educate himself while he was in slavery, another way he really represents the Africans is with his identity.…

Olaudah Equiano and Thomas Paine dispute the belief that Britain is more civilized than the countries it has colonized. Equiano is able to subtly assert his argument by disguising himself as “an unlettered African” who is a “most obedient, And devoted humble Servant” to Britain, but actually views himself and his culture as equivalently or exceedingly superior to that of the Britain society (Equiano v). In his autobiography, The Interesting Life of Olaudah Equiano (1789), he strategically links between Africa and Western cultures showing how Africans are more civilized and superior to Britons through his recollections of Africa and his current observations of Britain. He is able to manipulate his message by identifying…

If it were not for the stories past down from generation to generation or the documentations in historical books, the history of the twelve million African slaves that traveled the “Middle Passage” in miserable conditions would not exist. Olaudah Equiano contributes to this horrid history with The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano. Through this narrative, the appalling personal experience of each slave is depicted. He accomplishes his rhetorical purpose of informing the world of the slave experience in this narrative. His use of unique style and rhetorical devices in this conveying narrative portray his imperative rhetorical purpose.…

The slave trade, yet horrific in it's inhumanity, became an important aspect of the world's economy during the eighteenth century. During a time when thousands of Africans were being traded for currency, Olaudah Equiano became one of countless children kidnapped and sold on the black market as a slave. Slavery existed centuries before the birth of Equiano (1745), but strengthened drastically due to an increasing demand for labor in the developing western hemisphere, especially in the Caribbean and Carolinas. Through illogical justification, slave trading became a powerful facet of commerce, regardless of its deliberate mistreatment of human beings by other human beings. Olaudah Equiano was able to overcome this intense adversity and actually accumulate wealth by making the best of certain situations he faced throughout his experiences. Even though he was a victim of the slave trade, he willfully took advantage of the opportunity to see the world and to become a productive individual.…

In Ursula Le Guin’s fantasy science fiction story, The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas, LeGuin uses vague and vivid imagery to add to the mystifying and perplexing city of Omelas. The author reveals that words are insufficient to describe how perfect the city of Omelas is, and ask the reader to create their own mental image of the people and town. In other words, Omelas is a utopia which is impossible to conceive in modern society due to conflict of interest making it impractical to satisfy everyone’s needs. The author proposes key elements or symbols that allow for Omelas to exist as a paradise.…

The asteroid’s impact would of thrown enough dust into the atmosphere the sun’s rays would have been blocked darkening and chilling the Earth’s climate and chunks of meteorite that had also been thrown up into the atmosphere would have rained down as molten glass (SciShow). According to Ted-ED, the newest of TED’s initiatives, “The dust from the impact reduced or stopped photosynthesis for many plants starving herbivores and the carnivores that preyed on them.” Additionally the earth would of been plagued with highly acidic rainfall and firestorms (Dinosaur Worlds). The impact theory is so appealing because it explains pretty much all of the “common ground” about the K-Pg event. It explains the climate change, the iridium and would of been able cause mass extinction. In 1980 the collision was first theorized by geologist Walter Alvarez and his son after Walter was studying clay deposits from 65 million years ago and found levels of iridium hundreds time more than normal from sample in different parts of the world (SciShow). Other scientist started finding more evidence of an asteroid impact. Shocked quartz has been found that looked to have patterning that was caused by immense force some scientists suspect could only have been caused by an asteroid or comet impact (PBS). Scientists also found tektites which according to SciShow are “big tear-dropped shaped pieces of glass that form when rocks are thrown into the atmosphere by an impact and then melt on re-entry.” Then Dr. Alan Hildebrand also deduced, using other evidence that the asteroid hit near the Yucatan peninsula at the crater known as Chicxulub (BBC). Though many scientists believe the K-Pg event was caused by an huge asteroid some…
