Heart Disease:
Definition – Heart disease is a broad term used to describe a range of diseases that affect your heart. The various diseases that are classified as heart disease include diseases of your blood vessels, such as coronary artery disease; heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias); heart infections; and heart defects you’re born with (congenital heart defects). How to prevent – Do not smoke or use tobacco, exercise for 30 minutes on most days of the week, eat a heart-healthy diet, maintain a healthy weight, and get regular health screenings. Cancer:

Definition – Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues. Cancer is not just one disease but many diseases. There are more than 100 different types of cancer Most cancers are named for the organ of type of cell in which they start- for example, cancer that begins in the colon is called colon cancer, cancer that begins in the basal cells of the skin is call basal cell carcinoma. How to prevent – Avoid smoking and exposure to smoke, practice sun safety and recognize when skin changes occur, eat your fruits and vegetables, limit red meat and animal fat intake, limit your alcohol intake, exercise for cancer prevention, know your personal and family medical history, know what you’re being exposed to in your work environment, practice safe sex, and get screened for cancer regularly. Chronic Lower Respiratory Diseases:

Definition – Chronic lower respiratory diseases are diseases that affect the lungs. CLRD comprises three major diseases: chronic bronchitis, a form of bronchitis characterized by excess production of sputum leading to chronic cough and obstruction of air flow, emphysema, a condition in which the air sacs of the lungs are damaged and enlarges causing breathlessness or a condition in which air is abnormally present within the body tissues, and asthma, a respiratory condition marked by spasms in the bronchi of the lungs, causing...
