Multistoreyed Car Parking Monitoring System
CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION This chapter outlines the background to the study, the statement of the problem, objectives and the justification of the research. .
1.1Background
Public utilities need a parking infrastructure that can function efficiently and be integrated with the other urban city utilities. Economic development sees parking as a tool to support current economic activity and as incentive to attract new businesses. Safety and security departments see parking and its prerequisite enforcement as, just that, a requirement, albeit it is a low priority requirement that can divert that department from its higher priority function. Many parking facilities in India are not effectively managed because of haphazard method of parking adopted by motorists that park according to convenience rather than utilizing bays systematically. This has caused jams at busy spots leaving other parking spaces free. This calls for a Parking Management System that can be used assign bays to the motorists in a systematic and consistent manner so as to avoid traffic jams at busy spots. The inability of motorists to identify parking bays at a specific facility in the shortest time possible would, significantly, contribute to fatigue in operating the vehicle. Moreover, some motorists that fail to find parking space tend to park vehicles illegally on shoulders or pavements which would likely result in unsafe conditions.

1.2 Objective

In this modern era, where space has become a very big problem and in the era of miniaturization, it is necessary to avoid the wastage of space in big companies, apartments etc. This scenario is tackled to a great extend by implementing a multistoried car parking system which will be a boon to metro cities and

    The main focus of this study is to develop and implement Allocation algorithm that will directly allocate vacant slot in the parking area. With this, the application of real parking environment will also be implemented via simulation through the use of Allocation algorithm. The use of the simulation will be capable of guiding the driver of where the slot is located in the parking lot. In the Parking Lot, either Parking Area A or Parking Area B, which both searched for vacant slot and thus indicated the use of Allocation algorithm. Once the driver had chosen where to park the car, the time of entry in the parking lot and also the plate number of the car will be taken by the operator and this will directly be saved in the database. Other than that, the group included other features of the system such as the parking payment, reports of income and list of cars that parked in both area. A series of testing procedures of the algorithm and implementation of the simulation was successfully developed and executed. The system was successful as the simulation of the parking lot adopts the uniqueness of Allocation algorithm. Thus, the application of Allocation algorithm in the Car Parking Slot Allocation System was capable of making the group’s project achieved their goals and objectives of the study.…

    Abstract––Antitheft security system utilizes an embedded system design with Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) and a GSM to monitor and safeguard a car. It secures the car against theft. Upon activation, it automatically demobilizes the car by disconnecting the ignition key supply from the car battery. This now makes it impossible for anybody so starts the car, let alone moving with it. In an attempt of theft through the car doors or boot, the system sends text message to the car owner and at the same time starts up an alarm.
