Monogamy Essay

Monogamy is a fantasy island where two people decide that they will only be with each other sexually. Monogamy is synonymous with death for some, and for others it's synonymous with maturity. Although most people visit Monogamy Island in their lifetime, the majority of people don't stay for the duration of their life. Monogamy, especially for young people, can be quite constrictive. Therefore people who call Monogamy home are generally older, or have just given up. Monogamy Island is just across the bay from Celibacy Island, you see. If one stays too long on Monogamy Island, one often ends up taking a visit to Celibacy Island, just to break up the monotony. Imagine eating the same meal everyday, even if it's your favorite meal, eventually you will probably begin to hate it. You may even starve yourself just so you don't have to eat that same meal again. Monogamy Island is comprised of two major neighborhoods. Those neighborhoods are called Marriage Lane and the Long Term Relationship Knoll. People who reside in Marriage Lane often think that they are superior to those who live in LTR Knoll because they have a piece of paper that indicates they are permanent residents on Monogamy, although this isn't always the case.
The difference between these communities is negligible, as people come in and out of these communities equally as frequently. When on Monogamy Island one is very rarely granted travel passes to other islands, such as Ménage à Trois Island or Swinger's Island. Once stuck on Monogamy Island for a long period of time the only escape often seems to be suicide or, you know, breaking up with your significant other. Most people find both of those options unreasonable so they either suffer in silence or secretly rendezvous with others on Infidelity Island. To some people living on Monogamy Island is completely unbearable, to others it's a fairly comfortable habitat. Some feel safe in Monogamy, while others feel trapped. How one is
