Answer the following questions (you may use MS Project Help):
1) What are the three base calendars included in MS Project and what are the default values of each?

There are three base calendars that are included in MS Project. These are: Standard, Night Shift, and 24 Hours. The standard default values are weekdays (Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm (with a break in between for lunch) and 1pm to 5pm. Night Shift is defaulted for weekdays from 12am to 3am (break) 4am to 8am. 24 hour shift never stops and lasts 7 days a week.

2) What is the difference between a base calendar and a resource calendar?

A base calendar is a general calendar that is assigned to everyone on the project and defines the working and nonworking times, exceptions and holidays. The resource calendar is more specific as it details when people, or resources are available to work and the times or days they may have off.

3) Why schedule one project meeting after completion of the last task, Test System?

The point of scheduling a project meeting after the completion of the last task is to address the outcomes of the project. This is the point in time where the project may be deemed as successful or as a failure. After this meeting, it’s decided upon needing to continue to change a failed project and what was done correctly if it was considered a success.

4) Give an example of when you would assign a 24-hour calendar to a resource.

If you are hiring an outside contractor to do work on the project, this is a great example of scheduling a 24-hour block, since they may be in charge of creating their own scheduling.

5) If you were doing a senior project, what would be the base calendar you would use for students working on the project and what adjustments would you make to it?

The base calendar for students working on a senior project would be during school hours where everyone was

Weaknesses- The students have a limited time frame in order to develop and market their calendar. They are only given 9 months until the start of the fall semester to develop, create, and market their calendar to the students. Also, the students only have around 20 hours per week to dedicate to the project. With a limited start up budget of $8,000, the students need to use their money wisely.
