Vietnamese Culture Thesis Statement: The Vietnamese culture, a rich heritage on many different levels. Through exploring its religion, population, language, education, government, art and economics, an appreciation can be developed for the important contributions Vietnamese people make in American society. The early inhabitants of the area were Negritos. Some 4,000 years ago Austronesian (Indonesian) migrants from the north were moving into the area that is now North Vietnam. Later, Austro-Asiatic (Mon-Klimer and Maylayo-Polynesian) peoples arrived. Then, about 2500 years ago Viet (Yueh) and Tai peoples moved down from southern China. Out of this mixture of genes, languages, and cultures arose Van Lang, considered to have been the first Vietnamese Kingdom. In mid-third century B.C Van Lang was over run by and incorporated into another state to the north, forming the kingdom of Au Lac. Then Au Lac was incorporated into an even larger and more powerful state: Nam Viet. (Levison 284) Historically speaking, Vietnam (officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as of 1992) has struggled for independence for at least two thousand years, primarily from China. There have been brief periods when the country has itself p…

The objectives that Montreaux USA wants to achieve in the coming 3 years are national distribution of the new Montreaux product line, $15 million in annual sales, and to be within the top 25 in revenue. Accounting for 52.6% of the market, chocolate is the most profitable segment of the confectionary industry. In 2011, Europe captured the largest regional share of the global confectionary market at 45.2%, with the Americas following at 33.9%. The U.S. chocolate market is expected to grow almost 2% annually through 2015. The data shows that the demand for chocolate is increasing and that introducing a new chocolate product could prove to be very profitable. Not only is the U.S. chocolate market growing, but the U.S. consumer's focus on fitness and health is growing as well. There seems to be a perfect niche for Montreaux USA to introduce their new, healthier dark chocolate with infused fruit flavors. Apollo has been very successful introducing new products and their brand name brings even more value to the product. The extensive research conducted proves that there is a growing market for a low-calorie, dark chocolate product. With Apollo's resources and Montreaux's chocolate expertise, they should have no problem introducing their product and achieving their company objectives. However, successful product introduction will attract competitors along with new product innovations. It's crucial that they have a plan ready for the increased competition or they might not be able to achieve their company objectives.…

Vietnam is a country rich with culture and traditions. Since the colonial periods when Vietnam was ruled by China for nearly one thousand years, Vietnamese people promoted learning and engraved the idea into every child at a very young age that intellectuals in the society such as educators were all superior to parents and are only inferior to the king. Unfortunately, when the French forcibly colonized Vietnam and used French as the dominant language in the education system, this resulted in the majority of Vietnamese people becoming illiterate. Despite adversity, Vietnam has increasingly made significant achievements in the education sector and country as a whole. By analyzing the historical political roots in Vietnam during time periods such as independence from France, pre-1975, and post-1975, while also taking into consideration historical economic roots, and challenges with overcoming conservative teaching methods and under qualified teachers; it will be apparent how all these factors play a role in the development of the education system in present day Vietnam.…
