Load shedding is giving a tough time to University campus students. This study inquires about the problems faced by the University campus students due to electricity load shedding. For this study, convenient sampling technique for data collection was used and about 320 regular University campus students have participated. The results fully support that load shedding negatively affects majority of the University campus students. At night time students suffer more as compared to day time. Students are unable to plan a proper time table owing to load shedding. Multimedia lectures are not properly delivered. Late submission of assignments affects final grades as well.
Keywords: University Campus Students, load shedding, Education, Lectures Introduction Students are the key resources for success of any country. These would be the pillars the country would be standing on. Students are the pillar of a nation. They would be the researchers, teachers, scientists, politicians of tomorrow. They are the future and for the better future, one needs to give them better present life, environment. Students, as dependent variables, have a lot of independent variables for example, electricity load shedding. Theoretical literature confirms that energy especially electricity load shedding decelerate the efficiency of the students. Ahmad and Ali (2009) found that performance and results of learners are affected by energy (in particular power) shortage. Sahibzada (2009) found that facing shortage and load shedding of power energy during examinations, the (slack) students are unable to study properly that leads to low final grades. Riaz (2010) confirmed the adverse effect of load shedding on students getting online education. The key purpose of this study is to examine the problems faced by the University campus students due to the electricity load shedding. The objectives of the study would be to draw conclusions and give recommendations to overcome load shedding problems faced by students.

Convenient sampling procedure is used for the collection of data. With the help of a well designed questionnaire, survey is conducted. No specific sample size of students from each department was pre-determined. The students included in the sample structure were from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar (UET), Peshawar University (PU) and Islamia College University (ICU). In the present research study the target population is the University campus students of the three neighboring Universities namely University of Peshawar, University of Engineering and Technology, and Islamia College University, Peshawar. The participants include regular students of the three Universities. A total sample of 350 students was selected from different departments. For data collection the students was approached during University timings. Questionnaires were handed over to them to complete in one sitting. During the survey a total of 350 University campus students were given the research questionnaires. The total number of responses received was 91.4% (N=320). Total of 350 questionnaires, 320 were returned. After removing 20 improperly or incompletely filled questionnaires, the remaining 300 appropriately and completely filled responses were 85.7%. The average age of respondents was 22 Years (Mean= 2.87, Range 20-24). The...
