Letter of Recommendation Email
To: swayne@prairiestate.edu
Subject: Recommendation

Dear Mrs. Wayne,

I was hoping you would be willing and able to write me a letter of recommendation since you are my most credible source. I am a sophomore majoring in Pre-Vet. I took your Biology 101 course in fall of 2012 and finished with an A in the class. I will be applying for a position in a Pre-Vet program at my future university, and the application is due by December 3. After researching numerous programs, I fell in love with the program at Tuskegee University in Alabama. I remember us having a conversation about the program after class one day. You had nothing but good things to say about it since one of your past students was enrolled in the program. So, when it came time to finding the program that would be right for me, I kept Tuskegee at the top of my list. I soon realized that this would be the perfect place for me to grow considering the great staff, courses and environment of the institution.

You were there when I first decided I wanted a career as a veterinarian, and you saw how that goal evolved over the course of a year. If it weren’t for your encouragement, I would probably still be indecisive about my major.

The letter would need to be mailed directly from you to Tuskegee’s Pre-Vet program and must be postmarked no later than February 1. If you are able to write the recommendation, I will send you a stamped and addressed envelope for your convenience and email you a reminder two weeks before it is due. I know you are busy, so I would be very grateful if you were able to write me this recommendation, and I thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I don’t think I expressed my appreciation enough in class, but your motivating words and belief in me as a student has kept this goal alive for me, and for that I can never express my full gratitude.

Sincerely,

I believe that MSU would undoubtedly be the best institution for me to continue cultivating my love and passion for livestock animals and ag. MSU has one of the best colleges of agriculture in the nation, and I aspire to someday be apart of that. I have made a decision to be committed to providing the best healthcare possible to livestock animals, and devote the rest of my life towards furthering my knowledge in animal sciences. If it weren't for agriculture then I wouldn't have been shaped into the hard working, and dedicated student that I am today. As a child growing up, my love and compassion for animals was always indubitable. Although majority of my entire family failed to graduate high school let alone attend college, I was exceedingly confident in myself as much in middle school as I am today, that one day, I would make my dreams a reality and become a licensed veterinary physician. I honestly couldn’t think of nothing more that would make me happier than immersing myself in a career which allowed me to care for various common and exotic creatures, by providing medical assistance to better and possibly save many helpless lives in the process. With that said, I knew I had a long life in college ahead of me immediately after completing high school if I wanted to become a veterinarian.…

I am a senior attending Lenoir City High School. My GPA of 3.607. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a veterinarian. As a seven-year-old girl, I remember going to a friends house after school. They had many different animals of all sizes. Every day my friend and I would pretend we were veterinarians. We saved lives and set broken bones. Once a month the veterinarian would come to the farm and I would watch her assess the animals, give vaccinations, clean hoofs and any other care the animals needed. I knew then, I would be a Veterinarian. As I got older, I began researching the details of what being a veterinarian entailed. I was filled with an overwhelming energy and drive to pursue my dream. In middle school, I jumped at every…
