Main aim (systems: pronunciation): By the end of this lesson, Ss will be better able to ask personal questions focusing on using stress, intonation and tone more accurately
Sub aim (skills: speaking): By the end of the lesson, Ss will have practiced the phonological features aforementioned and will be more confident and accurate when asking personal questions at an informal situation (first day at the university)

10 questions related to asking personal information:

There might be some latecomers
Ss might not understand how to do the task in which they have to mingle as and questions to as many partners as possible
Fatima’s pronunciation isn’t clear enough at all times (stress is sometimes misplaced and she has got some problems with clear articulation of individual sounds)
Suggested Solutions

I will demonstrate the activity and ask some ICQs questions
I will make sure she is following the lesson by observing reactions and checking if she is able to accomplish the tasks.

Instruction Checking

By demonstrating rather than telling Ss what to do

During the next session, Kasten should continue to work on articulation of /s/ sounds with ES, focusing on phonetic placement, and making E.S more comfortable with correct speech sounds. Kasten appeared to be a good clinician. However, at times I think she was a little too picky in her assessment of E.S’s pronunciations. Being that this was such a long session for an eight year old, in future sessions I suggest more breaks during transitions. Lastly, I recommend more competition based games between Kasten and E.S; it will be a great way to get E.S to work hard, and strive to do her best during…

The human voice is an extremely dominant tool of communication whether or not it includes language. Around the world there are so many different types of accents of the human voice that make us unique to our roots and culture. In the short informational film, The Human Voice, vocals are analyzed in many aspects. The aspects I found most interesting was that about accents. This paper seeks to examine and answer a few questions about the short film including: What did the video teach you about accents? Where do you stand on the debate regarding standardized American pronunciation? And should children be taught to speak using standardized pronunciation or should cultural diversity be maintained? Explain your position.…
