Dear Reader,
I appreciate the time that you are taking to read my paper about what I would love to do as my future job. I hope to educate to some extent as to what it takes to become a professional and what it photography means to me. Expository Essay Photography is a magical thing that captures moments so that they will never be forgotten and memories can be relived. While all of the different skills that was discussed earlier would help me in my dream career, however there is a unique skill that will benefit more than the other is revision. Being a photographer the power of revision may be one of the most important skill. The photographer will need to constantly review their piece of work and try to improve on what that was wrong, if they do not revise on what was wrong then they will not understand the meaning of success. Photographer will need to know why they are doing the same mistakes over and over again so they can avoid it, especially when turning the final product. Sports, portraits, architecture, still life, I didn’t know where to begin! I decided to do contact my friend, Elysabeth, who was already in the commercial photography class so she could give me some tips for taking great pictures. She told me to start by a genre of photography that I had the most trouble in and work my way down to the easier categories. I took her advice and wow, did that help! Since I had the most difficulty in sports photography, I started with taking action-shots of the athletes at games, and they actually turned out all right, thanks to paying attention to my teacher in the Principles class. Then, I worked down to portraits and asked the most photogenic friends of mine to model for me. I used different angles of light and poses in order to use my photo characterize my friends as different emotions. Those photos turned out pretty well too; my confidence in my art increased when Elysabeth critiqued my pictures and told me that I had a good chance of making it into the Commercial Photography class. I was excited, but my challenges weren’t…

“To Plato, art was imitation of nature, but in the 19th century, photography took over that function, and in the 20th, abstract art overturned the whole notion that art was about representation. And although art meant skill early on, conceptual artists elevated ideas over execution. So what is art?” (Herman, "27 Responses”). The research question guiding this investigation is: How did the introduction of modern photography technologies, such as the digital camera and Photoshop, influence what is considered art in American society? For over 180 years, photography has been an important art form to the human race. It has been used for communication, expression, and overall fun. The perception of photography as an art form is a widely varied opinion.…
