Homosexual marriage Can you imagine the love of your life fighting tooth and nail to marry you without any success? Or can you imagine other couples exploiting their marital opportunities, but you never being given a single opportunity to choose your life partner? Marriage has been universally acknowledged throughout history as a legal contract between a man and a woman in which there is emotional and sexual fidelity, along with childrearing (Slick1). But homosexual marriage would change this. Since marriage is also a moral issue, redefining marriage is redefining morals. Furthermore, marriage is an extremely wide-spread practice within any society and has many legal and moral issues attached to it (Slick1). This is reality for many same sex couples. Not allowing a couple to get married based on sex is hatred and moreover allowing them to marry won’t affect their views on marriage. How does it feel when your loved ones abandon you because you married a same sex couple? As Leonard P. Matlovich stated: “when I was in the military they gave me a medal for killing two men and a discharge for loving one” (Mccullough1). The only thing that matters when marriage comes along is love. Countless individuals marry their same sex partner even if family members are against it. For example, a friend of my dad, he married the same sex as him even if both their parents didn’t agree. Everyone has the right to choose their partner.
Secondly, not allowing same sex couples to marry is degrading and prejudicial. The definition of hatred is the feeling of one who hates; intense dislike or extreme aversion or hostility. Many individuals might say that allowing same sex couple to get married will ruin the sanctity of marriage but I strongly disagree. Marriage is actually known as two members from the opposite gender getting married. There is nothing wrong by preventing same sex couples to get married because it their pursuit of happiness. About 68% of all opposite sex marriages end up in divorce (Mccullough1). For example, just last year Kim Kardashian’s marriage was at the top of every news headline because her marriage only lasted 72 days (MTV News1).
Thus, same sex couples should be allowed to marry like opposite sex couples. For those who are against same sex marriage, what if years from now you’re in that position or your loved ones are in that position? You would agree with that but not when others do it? So instead of being judgmental & critical, let’s try being open minded and tolerant of others.

A Defense of Homosexuality.” He responds to two arguments against homosexual sex, that it is unnatural and harmful. Unnatural refers to that which deviates from the norm, from what most people do. Corvino distinguishes various senses of “unnatural” and his overall conclusion in this regard is that homosexual sex is not unnatural in any morally relevant sense. He defends the practice of homosexuality against the charge that is harmful. He takes issue both with the claim that the practice of homosexuality is harmful to those who engage in it and with the claim that others are threatened by it (Mappes). Many people believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman because that is the view installed throughout the Bible.
