Home Schooling Provides a Better Education for Your Child
Attention Getter: Do you know that the type of education you receive as a child can determine that child’s success as an adult. According to USA Today, students in a handful of big-city school districts have less than a 50-50 chance of graduating from high school with their peers, and even fewer cities graduate less than half of their students each spring.
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience that home schooling is the best option for children to become successful and make them aware that they are safer than public school.
Overview: Today, I would like to talk to you first about the increase of the homeschool student population. Second, the success rate for homeschooled students entering college, and finally the behavioral benefits of homeschooled students.
Connect with the audience: Homeschooling can help not only the student but the parent as well by giving the parent confidence. It’s also a way to connect with their child while giving them the reassurance of their child’s safety.
Thesis Statement: The increase in home schooling is more popular now than it was just a few years ago and is much easier to do than most people think.
Transition: Let me tell you the how the population in home schooling has increased. I. The number of homeschooled students hit 1.5 million in 2007, up 75% from when the Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics started keeping records in 1999, and the numbers have gone up approximately 36% since 2003.

According to USA Today, 73 percent of most parents choose homeschooling because of the dissatisfaction they’ve received from public schools such as test scores, large classroom settings, and lack of teachers and staff. B. In the Akron Beacon Journal, many homeschoolers look at the public school as negative due to peer pressure and random acts of violence.
