Research Plan
As part of your Research Plan, you must draft a research question for your research paper. A research question, which is more specific and focused than a general topic, is the question that you will answer in your paper. For example, if your general area of interest is Social Security, a potential research question might ask, “How might low-income families save more money under a reformed Social Security plan that includes personal retirement accounts?”
As you develop a research question, keep in mind that you will research sources with both supporting and differing viewpoints. Do not select a narrow or one-sided issue that will limit your research; instead, develop a research question that lends itself to further exploration and debate. As you develop a research question, keep in mind that you will need to research sources to support your topic. Do not pick a one-sided question that will limit your research. Instead, develop a research question that lends itself to further exploration and debate—a question for which you genuinely want to know the answer. Try to pick a research question that is neither too broad, which covers too much, or too narrow, which covers too little. It should be broad enough to be discussed in a short research paper.…

Gun control advocates focus on the serious negative effects on gun availability on safety, while gun ownership advocates emphasize the lawful use of guns and their place in our history and culture. While our history and culture is important we need to address the current national problem in order to live in a safe enough society. In an effort to stabilize and decrease firearm related injuries and deaths in the U.S. a strong federal law to control guns is needed. Throughout the long and storied history of the United States of America, the right to own, bear and keep firearms, along with the right to defend oneself, is as central to the American identity as apple pie. However, unlike American cuisine, the issue of “gun politics” (as many academics and pundits call the issue) or gun control in the United States is extremely polarizing. During the last couple decades, the debate over gun control has been characterized by a stalemate between the individual's right to own firearms protected by the Constitution and the duty of government to prevent crime and maintain order. Stated differently, the current debate surrounding the right to bear and keep firearms within…

Purpose: With that, I’m going to inform you on the two controversial sides of gun control. Gun control is important because we can be affected due to our safety, but also the constitution states we have the right to bear arms and are able to arm ourselves for protection. In my lifetime there have been countless fatalities due to gun violence. Some people would say that, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”. Other citizens believe that the guns are the root of these deaths and more than likely contributed to the murder in such a way that, had the gun not been included, the equation would not equal murder. This topic can be explored from many different angles and points of view, but regardless of your opinion, the fact remains that guns are not going to just vanish off the face of the earth. Even if guns were to disappear murderers would still kill people.…
