GUINZADAN SUR HISTORY
Location
Guinzadan Sur is located in the central section of the municipality bounded on the North by Guinzadan Central, on the South by Barangay Tapapan, on the East by Barangay Guinzadan Norte and on the West by the Abit River, a tributary of the Abra River. Situated on a rolling terrain, the barangay is dissected by a provincial road effectively linking it to the national road leading to Baguio, to Cervantes, Ilocos Sur and to the capital town of Bontoc.

Agri-based Industry The barangay is engaged in vegetable farming as a major source of income. Rice and corn are the secondary crops but insufficient for home consumption. Shortage of cereal is remedied by imports from outside the province.

Micro-enterprise, Cottage and Small Enterprises Tailoring and weaving are small scale enterprises where limited households are engaged in tailoring is located at Sitio Pesnadan and the main product is the uniforms for elementary, high school and also teachers. Weaving is located at sitio Palidang with 20 households involved. Their main products are blankets, tapis, lamma and belt. These are being sold outside the barangay and within the municipality of Bauko.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF GUINZADAN BARANGAYS A Version By: Bartolome L. Banaken Sr. Guinzadan Sur Barangay used to be part of Barangay Guinzadan, formerly a monolithic Barangay. The former Guinzadan Barangay is now divided into three (3) contiguous barangays namely Guinzadan Norte, Guinzadan Central and Guinzadan Sur. As one separate barangay, Guinzadan Sur is bouded to the east by Guinzadan Norte, to the north by Guinzadan Central, west by Abit River, a tributary to the Abra River. To the South is Tapapan Barangay. West of the Abit are the barangays of Pandayan, Cagubatan, Tadian, and Mountain Province. In the early 1960s Bartolome L.
