AFTER THE EVENT

Love our Heritage event has ended at 4 pm and we together had tidy the place where the event has been held. All the equipment that we have borrowed from Pusat Adat dan Warisan (PADAT) are arranged nicely inside car as it is to be returned on the next day. Although we feel so tired to handle this event, but overall we are extremely glad because our mission and objectives of the event was successfully achieved. The mission that we want to achieve is, with this kind of event it can help to foster the spirit of love for traditional heritage in Malaysia among teenagers. What can be seen now, generation Y and generation Z are almost forgotten about their own custom and heritage. To bring this event into reality, they can look back a little bit about custom and tradition that was being popular in the past. By providing information and equipment such as traditional clothes and traditional games of Malay, Chinese and Indian hopefully it can give a picture of the beauty and originality on heritage and culture in Malaysia once upon a time ago. After the event, we were able to learn how to handle the event and the importance of proper planning in order for a smooth and easy when events are taking place. With the proper planning is not enough, because it needs the actions of each member. High spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding with each other can enable all problem can be overcome. As a whole, we are satisfied with the successful of this event “Love our Heritage” and we would like to say thank you for all support from our beloved lecturer Che Mazlan bin Che Soh and to all

My event began years before the actual event occurred. My stepson had been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder when he was seventeen years old. He was also exhibiting the signs of alcoholism, which ran in the family. His biological father had died from cirrhosis of the liver at the age of thirty seven years old. His mother and I were both recovering addicts, and argued constantly over whether we should use tough love (me) or enable him (her). I was just his stepfather; she was his mother so I would always follow her lead eventually. Over the next thirteen years he abused alcohol and would steal from us or his sisters to get his alcohol, or to drive our cars without permission. He ended up in prison numerous times for violating his probation, so much so he was on a first name basis with the correction officers at the county prison. The event happened on December fourteenth, 2005. I was awakened at five thirty A.M. by the warden of Lancaster County Prison, and notified that my son had committed suicide in his cell at four A.M. by hanging himself. I went into hysterics immediately and handed the phone to my wife who also lost it. I don’t remember much of that day except that it was our sons thirty first birthday, and that he surely wouldn’t have killed himself on this day, but he had.…

Defining terms in literature is a common and useful requisite in understanding what is being conveyed. William Sewell uses this idea of definitions to express a common word, events, in a more complex way, by using the taking of the Bastille as an example. In the sense that Sewell gives, the taking of the Bastille was an event that sparked the ideas of a modern revolution with ideas of equality, acceptable popular violence, and the duration it takes for an occurrence to become legitimate. Sewell’s specific redefinition of the word event is stated as, “sequences of occurrences that result in a transformation of structures.” (227) The occurrence is the taking of the Bastille, which resulted in a transformation of the French Revolution.…
