Mod 1 - Apply Ethical Leadership Decision Making Process:
 3 Perspectives:
• Virtues – Desirable Qualities – Courage, justice, compassion
• Principals – Authoritative – Army Values
• Consequences – greatest good, greatest number of people

 Ethical reasoning – informal process – integral

 Army Problem Solving:
1. Form of decision making.
2. Is a systematic approach to define a problem, develop possible solutions to solve the problem, arriving at the best solution, implementing the best solution.
3. Solve near-term problems, form the basis for long-term success.

 Army Seven Step Problem Solving Model:
1. ID the problem – WWWWW
2. Gather information – Facts, Assumptions, Interest
3. Develop criteria – Screening, Evaluation
4. Generate possible solutions – Suitable, Feasible, Acceptable, Distinguishable
5. Analyze possible solutions – Benchmark, does the solution achieve the desired state?
6. Compare possible solutions – Determine the best solution
7. Make and implement the decision – Decide and act
 Two types of information are required – Facts and Assumptions

 Critical Reasoning – is the purposeful, self-regulating judgment that includes interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference that leaders use to solve problems.

Mod 1 – Develop Unit Physical Security:
 SF 700 – Security Container Information – list the combo and point of contact info
 SF 701 – Activity Security Checklist – end of day security checks
 SF 702 – Security Container Check Sheet – record date and time a security container is opened and closed

 AR 190-11 – Physical security of arms, ammunition and explosives
 AR 190-13 – The army physical security program
 AR 190-51 – Security of unclassified army property (sensitive and nonsensitive)
 DA PAM 190-51 – Risk analysis for army property

Mod 1 – Develop Unit Physical Security Cont:
 DA Form 7278-R Risk Level Worksheet – used to calculate and analyze risk.
