1.1 Explain the welfare requirements and guidance of the relevant early years framework.
To ensure the health, safety and well being every home nation has standards set in place to follow to meet these requirements, and these have to be in place to ensure the protection of children who are cared for by anyone other than a family member.
The welfare requirements in England are : safeguarding and promoting children’s health and this requirement covers the day to day running of a nursery or setting ,so things such as planning activities and undertaking risk assessments, as well as the health and safety of children in the setting, and to ensure that you are meeting these practitioners need to keep up to date with all requirements ,specific legal and statutory guidance which cover things such as behavior management , children’s meals and making sure that the environment is safe for the children.
Documentation: having the required documents in place for each child, such as numbers addresses and if children have allergy’s, and also the recording of things that are happening with children in the setting.
Organization: this section is about how important it is to be organized in terms of planning and setting out for children , in order to keep things as organized as possible and cause less problems.
Suitable person: when someone new starts to manage a setting they will need to undergo a suitable persons interview by ofsted to ensure that they are capable of managing a nursery.
Suitable premises, environment and equipment: this basically is about ensuring that the environment is safe for children from the building, to the outside area, and also ensuring that equipment are safe for children to use and clean.
1.2 explain the lines of reporting and responsibility within the work setting.
Depending on the setting will determine how to report and problems that you may have , in my setting we have designated people
