Color Theory Notes
Incandescent Lighting
· Under regular incandescent lighting the green color looks slightly darker than a regular green hue.
· When green is placed next to the cadmium red light hue it enhances the saturation of the red hue, and deepens the greens saturation as well.
· When alone under the incandescent lighting the cadmium red light looks slightly more red-orange than red.
· When placed next to one another the complementary colors make each other look more saturated.
· The incandescent light gives both colors a “warm” temperature.
· Also, next to one another the red tends to look lighter in value and the green darker.
Daylight
Early Afternoon (1:15pm) · Colors look slightly cooler than incandescent light. · Both colors are much brighter looking and seem “crisper” in a sense than in incandescent lighting · The red-orange hue of the cadmium red light color looks more orange than in incandescent lighting · Both colors look to be the same value in this lighting.
Late Afternoon/ Early Evening (7:00) · This daylight gives both colors a cooler temperature. · The green hue looks lighter/brighter in this lighting than in the others. · The red hue looks slightly darker and slightly more red than red-orange in this lighting. · Both colors look to be about the same in value. · When right next to the green hue, the red hue deepens more, but alone it still looks red-orange. · The green hue by itself looks much lighter/ brighter in this lighting.
Florescent Lighting
· Under florescent lighting the red hue looks most saturated compared to all other lighting.
· The green hue is brighter than the incandescent makes it but darker than it looks under regular daylight

Grass is green because of absorption from light energy “photons” carried out by chlorophyll, a green pigment. Chlorophylls are indisputably the dominant pigment masking the reflective wavelength properties of yellow, orange, and red pigments. Chlorophylls absorb all the visible light wavelengths below 510nm and a fraction of the visible light wavelengths above 625nm. Explaining why grass appears green, the chlorophyll is green because it reflects the green wavelengths the most.…

    1. These dissimilar elements created dissimilar colors of the light when they were heated because there are a lot of dissimilar amounts of electrons, and they’re all activated to a dissimilar degree. These electrons diffuse light because of the kinetic energy that is being freed when coming back to their original start area. The properties that alter the colors when the light is being created is also the distance and the number of the electrons.…

Colors and matching emotions we are familiar with most commonly are dark and light. Phenylenevinylene show light in the green region. Phenylenevinylene has simple carbon chains which entitles weak electron donation groups. This means shifting color to red would happen if an electron donation group is added which entitles the monomer to have a smaller orbital gap. Smaller orbital gaps have lower wavelengths. An example would be with BEH-PPV. BEH-PPV also produces green light such as PPV. BEH-PPV also has a simple carbon structures with basic carbon chains. With BEH-PPV, shifting to blue would entitle an electron withdrawing group to be added to the monomer. The strength of the electron withdrawing group or electron donating group is what determines the distance of how far the blue or red shift will…

Artificial lighting represents a major component of energy consumption, accounting for a significant part of all energy consumed worldwide. Artificial lighting is most commonly provided today by electric lights, butgas lighting, candles, or oil lamps were used in the past, and still are in situation situations. Proper lighting can enhance task performance or aesthetics, while there can be energy wastage and adverse health effects of poorly designed lighting.
