Overview
The purpose of the Stonebrook Resort Survey Project (SRSP) is to improve the current guest satisfaction survey process. The scope of the project is to improve the way the guest survey responses are captured, stored and tracked. Additionally, it will help the Marketing department identify “happy” guests in order to provide these guests with resort promotions.

The purposed solution is to install the Survey Management Application (SMA) on hotel computers. This program will allow hotel management to capture and store the survey responses electronically. Additionally, this program has reporting and tracking capabilities.

Business Challenge/Background
With the number of resort guests increasing it is becoming more difficult to keep track of the survey responses. The current survey process is a very manual process that causes a delay in reporting and identifying areas of the resort that require improvements. In addition there is hazard with the limited storage space at the resort. The resort has already received a warning from the Fire Marshal regarding excessive combustible material being stored in a small room. Last, the Marketing department is currently unable to target the “happy” guest in a timely manner for re-marketing purposes.

Project Objectives
Create a more efficient way to collect survey responses in a timely manner
Reduce the amount of time it takes to create survey response reports
Efficiently communicate resort issues to management reducing the amount of time it takes to address guest issues
Eliminate storage of paper surveys
Provide marketing department “happy” survey results in a timely manner

Requirements
Allow hotel management to identify resort issues in a timely manner
Allow hotel management to create reports and track improvement process
Capture and store guest responses electronically
Eliminate the storage hazard identified by Fire Marshal
Allow the Marketing department a more efficient

The advantages of online surveys are that the cost is relatively minimal and the turnaround time from data collection to report presentation is much quicker than the traditional methods. However, online surveys have serious drawbacks: Some consumers may view email surveys as “junk” or “spam” and may either choose not to receive them (if they have a “spam blocker”) or purposely delete them, unopened.…

Customer response for rapid resolution to customer complaints is used by each and every Marriott Hotel and Resort. Customer Surveys are an integral part of the plan. Getting this feedback makes it possible to correct errors and enhance the customers’ overall experience as a guest. Customers are used to getting a questionnaire or a survey “after the fact” to record and advise the company of a problem and whether or not it was solved to the customer’s satisfaction. Marriott’s goal is to provide such a survey to the customer during the stay, so that any lingering problem can be immediately resolved. If there is something wrong with the room, it should be addressed during the stay, so that no one leaves dissatisfied. The real time feedback not only resolves complaints, but has been a stream of customer suggestions which would improve the experience. These suggestions are seriously considered and many have been implemented, such as providing a billing summary available to the guests by internet or television prior to check out.…

Mati has always been known as a beach destination. There some beaches in Mati that really enjoy and also relax for the same time. Measuring and managing customer satisfaction is important for the survival, development and success of the tourism business (Sirakay, 2003). Customer’s satisfaction is the main concern for every resort and hotel in order to keep the customers loyal to the resort and make them permanent visitors. It is believed that higher level of customer satisfaction may result in higher levels of repurchase. When measuring customer satisfaction, the basic premise is that consumers reflect on their expenses and express these honestly and free of bias. Customer satisfaction is one of the most frequently examined topics in the hospitality and tourism industry because it plays an important role in the continued and sustained operation of any tourism business. A high level of customer satisfaction is likely to generate positive feedback from the customer including revisiting the tourist area, increased purchase of products, and recommending these to others (Kozak and Rimmington, 2000; Gursoyet al. 2003; Andaleeb and Conway, 2006). The input of the tourist towards development and enhancement of a tourist destination is therefore essential in maintaining its competitive advantage. This study was carried out with the primary aim of identifying factors that may lead to tourist dissatisfaction and hence improving the customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has been identified as an important concept in establishing the performance of different destinations. Given the increasing level of competitiveness, it is essential for tourism management authorities to understand the main factors causing satisfaction/dissatisfaction for the customers.…
