SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT AS THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR: HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE MANAGMENT

Dear Mr J Moloto

The Department of Public Works, North West Province would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your successful appointment as the Deputy Director: Human Resource Development and Performance Management.

The main task and duties that will comprise your job description will include the following:

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT:
Advise the Head of Department on training policy;
Manage the implementation of the Skills Development Plan, Learnerships, Bursaries, the Induction Programme, Career Guidance, Adult Basic Education and Training; and
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:
Manage the development and implementation of performance management system and system;
Provide advise to Programme Managers on performance management related issues;
To provide the lead in solving performance-related problems and motivation factors;
To provide the lead in the formulation and implementation of Batho Pele Service Delivery Standards; and
GENERAL:
Overall management of human and other resources.

ASSUMPTION OF DUTY

Your employment will be on a permanent basis and will commence on 01 May 2005. You will be on a 12 month probation period from May 2005 to May 2006. Upon confirmation of satisfactory probation, your appointment will be made permanent.

SALARY PACKAGE

Your starting salary will be Notch 1. of
