Arguments for homework

Introduction

As you may not be aware of homework is all out of class or at home activities/assignments that teachers give to students. Homework is an extension to schoolwork. It could be practicing skills learnt during the school day, preparing some information for a presentation or studying for tests.
I believe that homework is helpful and necessary in order to make the school day learning efficient. Not to mention that we would be in school very much longer to learn the same things.

1. Take initiative – responsibility
You have to start and do your homework by yourself without the formal setting of school. You are the one that ensures that the work is done not a teacher.

Independence means that homework is planned and done by the pupil without interference from teacher or parents.

2. Develop time management
You have to make sure that time needed for homework is enough and that you still have time for your extra curricular activities and seeing friends and family. This ability to plan what you have to do is a very useful skill through life.

Time management will be especially important in projects that are running through a longer period that pupils often work on both in school and at home. These types of projects are a preparation both for higher studies and real work life.

3. Importance of planning and prioritisation
In order to have time for what you maybe enjoy more than homework you need to plan so that everything fits into your day. Some thing that you have to do and some things that you want to do. Just like it will be through life
4. Practice what you learnt during the school day
During the school day you learn new skills for example maybe a new grammatical tense in French or a new formula in maths but in order to really master these new skills you need to repeat and practice at home.

5. Preparation for lessons and for tests
The preparation is really the work of repeating what was explained on

"Nothing in this world is simple and easy to accomplish. Even opening your eyes is a task in itself and needs efforts and synchronization to accomplish completely. And for things that are slightly more difficult than the normal tasks, it is more important to develop and adopt strategies so that you are able to do it on time and in a more efficient manner. Homework also falls in this category because it is quite difficult to do your homework timely because usually the quantum of homework is much more than the time available to the students. And hence it is essential that you take help on homework and adopt all other possible strategies for being able to do your homework on time. Homework is even actually quite similar to any sport that you play and all you sportsmen would relate extremely well to this corollary and can understand the sentiments behind the same.…

Kids should have less homework. Homework does not serve a purpose. Kids go to school to learn things. We learn for eight solid hours, and come home to do more work. Some people say that you do it for practice, but if we learn it, then we know it.…

But when I think about it doing homework on weekdays does help my learning skills. I might not approve of it but I could never say it doesn’t help. I remember one year my fourth grade teacher telling me that homework is nothing more but extra practice. So in case you didn’t quit understand what you went over in school you get to practice it at home, or if you didn’t finish all the work given to you take it home. But besides that I don’t believe we should have homework. It just isn’t fair for us students after a long day at school. We should be able to come home and relax not worry about…

Most of the time the homework you'd get for an assignment is unnecessary and teaches totally unrelated stuff. Homework can also be very frustrating and, in a classroom, you can always ask a professional. However, at home, most of the time your parents won't even know what the lesson is teaching and how to help you. In my opinion, kids shouldn't have homework at all.…

different tasks into a single time period, and more often than not, some things are not completed. With working over 60 hours a week, a second job working 15 hours a week, full time school (which is over an hour from my house), constant visits to the VA hospital in Milwaukee, raising a child, and trying to fit in some personal time to relax, things can often get hectic in my life. I tend to do very well if I have a specific schedule I can follow, but they often become useless after other things come up. My biggest problem is trying to find time for homework for school. The best way I have found to rectify the situation of accomplishing my homework, is to do it in the mornings before work while I have some solitude and by taking my laptop with me everywhere so I can do homework at every spare minute I come across. My…

Homework is an important part of the learning process in middle school. One reason is that homework gives students additional practice of skills covered in class. Middle school classes are too short to teach a new concept and practice it sufficiently for students to master. Students need both guided practice in class and independent practice at home. Another reason for homework is that it provides time to complete longer assignments. For example, the ideal composition process allows time for students to think and to reflect on their ideas, as well as time to revise and to proofread their writing. Also, reports and special projects often require research that can not always be done at school. In addition, since all students do not work at the same speed, giving students time at home to finish work keeps them from falling behind. Finally, the most important reason for homework is that it ensures review. New material and old material are practiced in daily assignments. Students who do their homework daily are prepared for tests and make better grades. In conclusion, not only is homework essential to mastering new skills and maintaining previously learned skills, but it also guarantees constant review and provides time for longer assignments, as well as additional time for students who need it. Students, do your daily homework, make better grades, and learn more!…

I think it is better to have homework than to not have homework. One reason it is a good idea to have homework is because it helps you make sense of what was taught in school. For example, if you learned something in class and you didn’t understand it you wouldn’t get the practice you need. Another reason we need to have homework is it helps you practice your skills that you would need on a test. For example, if you had a big test coming up and you didn’t have homework to practice your skills, you probably would not do very well. Finally, it is a good idea to have homework because we can master the things we are taught. For example, we would not have to think that much about how to do something, we could just get it done really fast. Clearly,…

It is a common emotion to students regarding the distaste of homework, but legions of teachers know better because they recognize the importance of homework in the success of students in school and outside of school. I completely disagree with the statement that homework should be abolished. School without homework is not an image I can fathom. There are many reasons why homework should not be abolished as it is greatly beneficial towards the student. Homework improves the stability of the student in school allowing them to spend their time wisely and not only focus on play. It allows the teacher to acknowledge the student's weaknesses and in turn giving them an opportunity to improve and acquire new skills. Also, taking time each night to do homework is a chance for students to catch up on missed class and further reinforces the day's lessons so it is permanently etched in the student's mind where the information is stored and used when called upon.…
