Aim of study
To assess the coastal features and processes evident at Las Cuevas bay, Trinidad.
Introduction
Las Cuevas bay is derived from the Spanish word caves. It is located in the north coast of Trinidad, longitude 61.4 north and latitude 10.78 east. It is a sheltered bay a bit more than the nearby Maracas bay. It is considered a building or constructive beach which makes it an excellent beach for bathing and nesting by the turtles. For our school based assessment, we choose Las Cuevas Bay (area of study) due to the dominant coastal processes (erosion, deposition) and the prominent coastal features (caves, arches, blowholes, cliffs) which seems to be changing overtime.

Methodology
A field trip was planned for the 7th of June. The time of departure from the school ground was recorded, as 10:20am. The location of the study area is longitude 61.4 N and latitude 10.78 E. The study area of Las Cuevas bay is located on the North Coast of Trinidad. The study area can accessed via the North Coast road. The area of study is approximately m in length and bounded by headlands on the Eastern & Western boundaries. Different methods were used to investigate. This included the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods of research. The following procedures were done:
1) A measuring tape was used to measure the width of each site. They were calculated site a, site b and site c.

2) A sketch map of study was drawn and labelled
3) A clinometer was used to measure the angle of headland on the Eastern and Western boundaries.
