These characteristics include understanding math and numbers, having good communication skills, being able to do thorough research, having good salesmanship skills, and also strong negotiation skills. All of these skills would be important because they can all help you in different areas of the job. This career fits my personality because I enjoy math and dealing with numbers, and I am pretty good at it, too. I also enjoy helping people and being a financial advisor would give me more opportunities to do that. Financial planners work in offices and in the field, either alone or in teams. They may hold financial planning workshops with local community groups or at adult schools. Some financial advisors meet their clients at their homes or businesses. Financial planners sometimes work more than forty hours per week, especially in the beginning when they are trying to establish certain clients. Usually they work for long hours in the office. Some financial advisors even have to work evenings and weekends to meet with clients. They will usually travel by your own car, or by a company issued car to go meet with clients. This job can be very stressful at time depending on how many clients you are working with at a time. What I would like about the work setting would be getting to get out of the office often to meet with clients.
