1.1

When planning indoor and outdoor activities, there are many factors of health and safety that we have to take into account for example:

Age: you have to make sure that the activity and equipment is suitable for the children's age group. Abilities & individual needs : you have to assess to see if each individual child is able to do it and if there personal needs are met. Risk & Hazards : before you plan the activity you must do a risk assessment and reduce any risk involved and make sure the area is suitable and large enough for the activity.

in my work setting health and safety is moniterd and maintained by staff by doing daily, weekly and monthly checks on: the nursery the baby room main hall quite room/ sleep room after school club room kitchen

we are made aware of any hazards/risks in the nursery by staff and risk assessments which are done frequently. By these risk assessments we are then encouraged to work more safely fowling the health and safety polices witch we can find in the staff hand book.
