Fish on! Fish on! We were fishing on Eagle Lake Canada and we were headed to our lucky spot by Bird Turd island it is out in the BIG lake. We are fishing on a windy day, we hit a huge 4 foot wave head on and our Crestliner boat capsized. I quickly grabbed my backpack, in my backpack I had a marine radio, a survival kit, sunscreen, and some extra food. We swam to closest island call Bird Turd island. I looked back, all of my belonging were sinking to the bottom of the lake. We were shipwrecked! I was screaming and screaming and screaming for help but no one could hear me. I heard a boat so I screamed so more and no one was there. I was hoping someone was coming. I stayed there for what felt like hours, so I decided to walk around and look at the island. I came across and tiny little shed.…
There were some salmon, but if I put them in my knapsack, it will turn bad. I got back to the shelter to grab my knapsack and decided to search for the second shelter, I went along the river, which led me downhill. It was a forest with huge trees, filled with life, but there are still salmon in the river, so I chose that instead. I broke off a branch and stabbed some salmon, I got two, which was plenty. I started a fire near the river to just cook the fish, I didn’t do it near the trees because they might catch fire. There wasn’t a place to take shelter, so I stayed up a tree the whole night, that is a typical…
The harsh terrain in the area of modern Iran made it very difficult for humans to survive and find water sources. The arid climate meant more work for agriculture and agricultural surplus was very rare. Organizing the building of underground irrigation channels for agriculture required a strong central government. The connection between royal authority and prosperity can be seen in the ideology of the first Persian Empire. (p. 100, 102).…
I knew I wouldn’t make it to the top of the murky, warm and brown waters. I could feel the oxygen being released quickly from my lungs and bubbles swiftly skimming my skin as I slowly reached the bottom of the lake. I heard the faint cries for help and loud splashing as my sight becomes blurred. I felt someone’s hands grab mine and pull me onto the grainy dusty dirt. My vision comes back and I feel everyone’s eyes on me. They all immediately start laughing at me as I stood up and brushed the dirt off of me, feeling something tightly clutch my body.…
During breakfast they announced to us that we would be doing things different that day. We all needed to return to our cabins as soon as we finished eating and put on tennis shoes, sun block, to bring a lot of water. After we all did that we met at the circle and they told us that we were climbing a mountain as a bonding experience. So they put us in groups of three with people in our cabins, but the task was for us to bond with someone that we didn’t know. We started our journey and coincidentally my group had gotten stuck behind a group of girls from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Now none of knew these girls, but I did know that one of them had given me a dirty look at lunch the day before so I wasn’t too thrilled about walking by them. We were all having a nice walk until about half way up the mountain it had gotten really steep. It was like trying to walk up a gravel wall. Everyone on my group successfully made it up, and two people form their group did but for some reason the girl who gave me a dirty look was having trouble. She just couldn’t get up there. Everyone in her group had walked up ahead so I was forced to help her. As I was standing there everything inside of me was telling me not to help her, but I had to think about what if that was me. So I couldn’t jus let her stay down there, so I helped her. We walked up the rest of the mountain together. We talked and I came to find out that she was a really nice…
Seven days have passed. There has been no food for days, and I am almost out of champagne. I am feeling tired and I am very sunburned. There is no land In sight. I have tried to paddle with my cane but I get no where. I can only be thankful to God that I am still alive. I pray to God every morning that I find land, or I ask for fish, or rain. Suddenly I felt something wet…
On the Sunday morning, it was raining outside and I was getting bore at home. I called my friend and make a plan for road trip. I pick up some snacks, some drinks and some money from my dad pocket and my friend took his dad car without his permission. His dad bought a new car just two weeks before and it was too costly. We started our journey and on the way, it was too foggy with wet roads and our car was swinging along the road and we were enjoying that thing without any hesitation. My friend was driving the car and he was kind of afraid, if anything went wrong everything will get mess up. After sometime, the same thing happened with us to which we were afraid of. My friend looked down to change the soundtrack for some seconds and in that moment he hit the car with truck and I screamed loudly. On that time I was feeling so strange like it’s the end of the world. Our car spin on the road but it was our luck we control our car and get back to the track without anything bad happen. My friend injured his leg and I was worried for him and his dad car. We stopped the car at the nearest gas station and got the first aid and continue to the road trip with more motivation. We took this thing as a fun but the reality was that we both were worried from the deepness of heart.…

We got two rooms which we waited for 2hrs for . We stayed in the hotel the first day but not the next. The 2nd day I checked with my mom and grandma we found a lot of different stores. The same day we checked out a lot of San Diego by walking . When we finished checking out San Diego my parents…
My brother just kept on spitting out "come on, Maggie. I know you can do this". I couldn't help but believe him, so yet again, I climbed the ladder. I arrived at the top of the boathouse, and I crept across the black gravel laid out on the roof of the building. It was burning on my feet, since the gravel had absorbed the heat from the sun. Finally, I edged myself to the step up that was the edge. It was metal, so now it was scorching on my feet; even worse than the gravel. I stood there and felt my stomach fill with butterflies. I heard my brother and Daniel acting like typical monkeys and both were taunting me like monkeys--(oops! I mean brothers) do. They yelled things like "don't chicken out this time". It was Samantha and Mara who were cheering me on. I gawked at the rippling water, tightened the straps on my black and yellow life jacket, and shut my eyes tight. I began to dream of hitting the water and as i began to float away, i heard voices in the background slowly chanting: One for the money….. (the pause was endless), two for the show…. (I clenched my fists), three to get ready… (oh, god)… and four to….…

My worst day ever was the day my brother fell out the window, and almost died. My brothers name is Ali. He was born on January 9, 2004 and is the fourth child in our family. He was eight and a half years of old. It all happened on Tuesday September 11, 2012. My day began like any other day not knowing what was hidden for me, I thought that this was going to be a great day. I had no idea that my brother was going to fall from the second floor window and almost die. In this essay I will be informing you about how my day began, to how he fell and what happened at the end.…
Parveen, you better get up right now or you will be late for school," my mother shouted from the kitchen. Lazily, I pulled the pillow off my face and looked at the clock. I got such a shock to see that the time was already 7.00a.m. I was indeed late. The bus will be here in 15 minutes time. I was definitely going to be late for school. I ran out of my room, grabbed my towel, and dashed into the bathroom. I had no time to bathe, so I just brushed my teeth and washed my face. I got into my uniform. Then I combed my hair. I opened my drawer hastily and pulled out the hair bream bottle. To my dismay, the cream had spilled out. My drawer was a mess. Oh no! Even my favourite ribbons were all smeared with the cream. Me and my butterfingers! I had to comb my hair without the hair cream today. I ran down to have my breakfast. It was ten past seven. Only five minutes to go. So, I took a few sips of milk. Then, I took my school bag from the chair. In a rush, I clumsily knocked down the glass of milk. Shatters of broken glass and milk were all over the carpet. My mum ran from the kitchen to see what had happened. She was so furious with me that she started lecturing me on my clumsiness. I had no time to clean up the mess, so I apologized and immediately went to front door to put on my shoes. Suddenly, I remembered that I left my lunch pack in the kitchen. Running back to kitchen, I almost cried when I heard the bus hooting outside. As fast as I could, I rushed to the door, but only to see that the bus had left. Well, at least I had a bicycle. I took it out from the shed and rode off to school on it. On the way, I suddenly felt that the road was bumpier then usual. I stopped and checked my tyres. What else could be worse? I had a flat tyre. Having no other options, I had to walk. I reached school around 7.45a.m. By that time, everyone was in class. After putting my bike under the bicycle shed, I went to my class. I knocked on the door. I explained…
Further in the woods I come across the cabin we used to stay in when I was a child. Now it looks like something you would see in a scary movie. Since the death of my grandfather no one comes here anymore and the cabin has given way to the force of nature. One time this was such a beautiful place. As I head back down the dirt trail it begins to sprinkle rain. The rain smells like fresh laundry that was put on a line to dry.…
It was a sunny day in Ardeche. The temperature was about 16 degrees celsius. Tuesday September 12th might seem like a lovely day to you, but if you knew what was going to happen later today that day, you would not exactly describe it as lovely. Today was the day I was going to spend on the river. I got into my yellow and green fresh looking canoe with a guy called Even. I changed partners many times, as we practiced doing a couple of different things with the canoe including 360s and speed paddling. Everybody were having a great time. However, what no one knew, was that it was time for this to change drastically.…
Everyday there are people coming into this world while there are some people leaving. Sometimes, it makes me think about the life. What’s the meaning of life? People always want to live a meaningful life. But how do we define a “meaningful” life? I think that everybody would have his own definition of “meaningful.” Most people work very hard day and night in search of fame and…
