The bell rang and it was already time to go to next class. I had not listened to a word the teacher said but instead was admiring the new girls amazing attributes. After going from class to class the rest of the day I couldn’t get her out of my mind. No one seemed to know her name either but there was a lot of talk amongst the guys about her. It seemed to me everyone was trying to figure out who she was, so I knew I had to act quick.
The next day I sat in first class waiting to make the right move and not come off as creepy. Sitting there I was trying to figure out what to say and when to say it. I came to the conclusion that I was going to approach her after class and hopefully walk her to the next one. Awaiting for the moment I sat nervously in my desk and kept glancing up at the clock over and over again. I was getting more nervous as the time passed. My hands began to sweat and there was only a minute left in class. My mind was everywhere and my heart was racing. There was the bell it was that time already. I waited for her to leave the room first and I left right behind her. Walking quickly to get beside her I looked over at her and simply said "HI. I’m Trevor what’s your name?" She answered back with a big grin on her face and said “it’s Kayla, thanks for asking.” As weird as it sounded coming out of my mouth, things actually went fine. We stated talking and it only got easier. We walked to her next class and I let her go. I felt success come over me and I knew I must have done something right. I was so happy and couldn’t stop smiling for the remainder of the afternoon. The days went on and we started talking more every day. After a couple weeks of talking at school we exchanged number and began texting all the time. It was obvious that we both liked each other. I really found out who she was and her story after all the long days of staying up late talking on the phone. To me the way things were going it seem so unreal. I thought this was only things you read about or seen o T.V. I remember the first day I seen her the impression I had of her was totally right by all means. She wasn’t the quite type or shy at all which I knew from the beginning was definitely not her, but I would have never guessed that she would be as outgoing as she is. Her personality was everything I knew it would be. I realized that we had way more in common because we both are a little shy at first but after finding out our true personality we clicked. I guess in a way we are just alike and at times that can be hard, but I wouldn’t change that for anything. There are several factors that can affect everyone’s first impression of each other. Different personalities are one of the greatest things that people consider when we meet someone for the first time. A persons personalities has a big effect on the impression they put forward first. Things that come to mind after seeing and meeting a person, make first impressions often the worst means of judging others. Remember everybody is different and what u see on the outside isn’t always what’s on the inside. When it comes down to it "never judge a book by its cover."

They say a first impression is everything. However, I've found that these aren't reliable. Some people cover their true feelings, trying to be tough. You never know what's going on in people's lives when you first meet them that causes them to act differently. And sometimes, we just make inaccurate assumptions. This is also true of things in literature.…

It was a casual August afternoon in Minneapolis, people walking the down the sidewalk, strangers passing by. We were visiting my old hometown. I was walking with Beth, and we were messing around. I used to have an inside joke with one of my friends from fifth grade, “Girl you need to chill.” It stuck once I moved. Anyway, Beth had just told me to chill, so, I walked into the nearest cold building. Which of course, ended up being a meat locker… 15 minutes later I was coming out and saw an all too familiar pair of square glasses. Before I could see her face, she turned away. Her bleached tip hair swung across her shoulders. The dark skin, the hair and glasses, it had to be Miracle Brown. This is the girl who was one of my best friends in sixth grade. She started heading down the street, so I told Beth to meet me back at our hotel.…

“Hello,” said a kind face to me as I entered my first eighth-grade class at a new school. “Hello,” I said back, not knowing how to take the gesture. I walked into a classroom full of new faces. Everyone was gawking at the new kid. I thought to myself, “is it what I’m wearing? Do I look weird? Should I say something?” I did nothing but go to my assigned seat, and sat quietly just like I did on the bus months prior. As I sat in silence, I listened intently as the teacher floated across the room while calling roll. When I heard my name called, I tried to muster up the courage to address myself in a casual way, but I’m sure that it came out as a nervous “here.” As she finished roll call, each student was handed a mountain of forms and papers. Then the class slowly transformed into a parade of shouts and laughter. Everyone was welcoming each other back, except for me. I sat there in silence examining everyone.…

That day, in my supplemental skills class, I wasn’t following anything that my teacher said and she noticed. She called me to her desk and started to have a conversation with me. We should not be judging people at all before getting to know them. I have judged someone by a first impression. It was a negative impression of the person because of her mannerism and how she was dressed. This person was not dressed very nicely, and her hair was a mess. When I spoke to Maria, I also got the impression that she was stuck up and not friendly because of her body language. It turned out I was completely wrong. She didn’t feel well the day I met her. Her appearance reflected how she felt, and her mannerism was the same. The next time we met her appearance was put together, and she was very friendly. We had conversation, and her body language was completely relaxed and not tense. Maria was my husband’s friend’s girlfriend so I…

“Never read a book by its cover,” a commonly used quote describing the importance of judging people not on first impression, but on the things you learn about them along the way. Oftentimes, nowadays, people seem to look at someone, and based on appearance alone, think they know exactly who this person is, and what they represent. More common than not, this refers to negative views on people due to the way they look, when in reality, they are very nice, warm hearted people that anyone would enjoy. Based on my experiences, I believe the opposite of that. I look at someone and based on looks alone, I have my full trust in them, before I even know what kind of person they are, or realize the front they are putting on. Trust is something built…

“Don’t be over self-confident with your first impressions of people” – Chinese Proverb. Even though people try not to make preconceived notions, it just seems to happen instantly and uncontrollably. Once you have “branded” that person with your preconceived notion, they will always seem like that when you see them and it would be hard to change your mind about them. The only way of knowing how people are truly is to simply give them a chance and talk to them and get to know them better because you may never know when your notion may be overthrown. It is my personal experience to say that my first impression of someone who is now one of my closest friend have been overthrown when I took a chance and talked to her.…
