What is meant by the term ‘social sciences’?
The definition of ‘social sciences’ is a group of academic disciplines that examine society and how people interact and develop as a culture. (Investopedia.com). Social science also highlights study of humanity, including quantitative and qualitative methods.

Anthropology
Anthropology is the education of the past and present focusing on the cultural, social and physical development of humans. It was recognised from the social science ethnology, which both relate greatly to the cross cultural comparisons. It also practices first-hand involvement in research.
Economics
Economics study the way society react and deal with money and availability of imports. It also looks into the consumption, production and distribution of goods and services. The study is split into two primary textbook distinctions being; microeconomics and macroeconomics. Microeconomics looks at the basic elements in the economy such as individuals or small selective groups. Macroeconomics examines the whole economy and issues affecting it such as unemployment.

Psychology
Psychology is the development and learning of the minds functions and how they relate to physical and social functions. This process of study is mainly used to benefit society and individuals. Psychologists use this method of practice as a way of exploring and understanding the cognitive social and behavioural patterns of humans. Psychology generally focuses on perception, cognition, emotion, motivation and personality. It also involves the notion of brain functioning and interpersonal relationships.
Criminology
Criminology is the learning of criminal behaviour within individuals and society. It looks at the causes, control and prevention of criminal behaviour. Criminology works closely to the law and both social sciences use of methods overlap.

Sociology is the study of human behaviour. It uses numerous ways of analysing the way human behaviour interacts and the development of human social structures and actions. Sociology as a whole focuses on social communications in human society, where other social sciences study further in depth into our social environment and surroundings.
Economics emphasises on how society and individuals behave to satisfy their needs through choices and incentives. Sociology only interests in human social action and mainly focus on social process that separate people as individuals or groups. It also analysis the development of human social life.
