Silky Bob: A Short Story
Two weeks later Silky Bob was getting ready to be released from jail. Staring at the blank walls gave him ample time to think about the friendship he once had with Jimmy. Silky Bob stepped out the dingy jail cell and went to gather his belongings from warden. Silky Bob’s anger couldn’t be hidden, it could be seen all over his face, the way he walked, and the dark deep tone of his voice. He stepped out of the police station with one thing on his mind; find Jimmy.
But where would he start? Silky Bob knew he had to be close, but where? He started back to the place of the old torn down restaurant where he was supposed to meet Jimmy. Silky Bob arrived at the lot of the torn down restaurant but this still didn’t tell him where he could find Jimmy. Just as Silky Bob turned around and saw a bar across the street. As Silky Bob made his way into the empty bar he saw an old bartender having a beer of his own. The old bartender said “what can I get you son?”

He busted through the hospital doors and ran to the lady working the front desk “my friend Jimmy, Jimmy he’s a police officer he came about a week ago what room is he in. I need to see him now!” “Sir, sir please calm down and I will ask one of the nurses.” said the woman. She quickly left the desk and disappeared into the nurses lounge. Silky Bob was left at the desk trying to catch his breath. Minutes felt like an eternity as Silky Bob waited anxiously for the woman to return. Finally a nurse came out of the lounge with a distraught look on her face and walked up to the front desk, in a quite and nervous tone she said “I’m sorry sir, but J-jimmy he passed away last night.” Silky Bob had no words, the only sound that came from him was whimpering along with an ocean’s worth of tears. Silky Bob dropped down to his knees as he realized his best friend had

In the chaos that followed the group rushed toward the pool house to check on the wife of the man who’d initially sent the two paramedics packing. The group pushed ahead of the two men who could offer the most help if the woman had in fact ingested some pills. The family pushed each other and the two men as they all herded around the edge of the pool. Roy had not so graciously been shoved to the left and lost his footing on the slippery side of the pool. He unceremoniously took a splash along with the drug box. Johnny had eventually made it into the fray only to find out the lady had taken a bottle of aspirin and agreed to seek advice from her personal physician. Johnny fished the drug box from the water and offered his hand to his partner, but Roy hadn’t wanted or needed his help.
