1.0 Introduction 2.1 Background of the Problem

Since UTM SPACE Kuala Lumpur moved to the new building, there are several issues that arise and one of the issues is regarding the facilities and services offered by UTM SPACE Café. Usually, students possess a recess for an hour including time to pray but long queue not just to buy a food but also to get a table indirectly reduced the time allocated due to limited space in UTM SPACE Café.

Apart from that, lack of choice from menu forcing students looking for other alternative which is brought student to going out from the UTM SPACE building areas which is may consume more time allocated.

2.2 Statement of Problem

Staff and students have to wait for a long time and queuing just to have their meal served and get a seat. This is the result of limited space and number of table provided in UTM SPACE Café which is bring to recess time can’t be spend efficiently. Limited choice from menu can’t satisfied the staff and students which may brought them to have their meal outside the UTM SPACE building area which consume more time and can be more costly.

On top of that, limited space caused the place can be too crowded and the price offered not matched with the

    There are several problems facing Jason Mah and Café D Pownd. One serious problem, which arose from lack of space, was the confusion building in the queues since people had no idea which line they were in. There were times when people had been lining up in the interactive cooking line for several minutes when they actually wanted to be in the pre-cooked line. Another problem was the long lines tended to create a wall of people in front of the soft drink machines, becoming burdensome even with as few as 20 people waiting for service. In order for people to get drinks, they had to barge through a line of people. Usually this confusion caused spills and was annoying for people waiting in line and the people trying to get to the soda machine. There was also the issue that the customers might use other alternative options for meals if the long wait time was not resolved at Café D Pownd. The residents had other options for meals. Suites in Cambridge Hall and Nottingham Hall were equipped with furnished kitchens, and residents could also order a wide variety of food for delivery to the residence from local restaurants using their residence meal plans.…

    First, our hours of operation are very confusing to our nursing and support staff. We are open in the Bistro coffee shop from 7am to 10:30am for hot cooked to order breakfast. From 10:30am to 11am, we only offer grab and go options as our café staff changes from breakfast to lunch. During the 10:30am-11am hour the Bistro coffee shop looks deserted as the staff makes the necessary changes to lunch and is not always present in the Bistro. The café is then open from 11am to 2pm for lunch at which time the grab and go option is available from 2pm to 3pm. At 3pm the Bistro coffee shop is then open until 6pm. During the hours of 3pm to 6pm the cafeteria looks and feels deserted. If we were to keep the café open during this time the friendly atmosphere would draw more customers and potential business. These few minor changes would not require more staffing or cost more to operate. However it would simplify the confusion and frustration to the Bay Park staff and lessen the stress of the Bay Café employees.…

They’ve for instance provided them with health insurance and stock options. For Starbucks it is key to create long lasting relationships with customers (these customers have proven to be very profitable for the company), demanding good relationships between baristas and customers. Keeping a low employee turnover rate both with baristas and managers has definitely contributed to the company’s success.…
