Ponyboy Is Johnny A Hero
Heroes are strong and brave. A hero is someone who saves someones life and sacrifices themselves for another. Ponyboy is a hero. Johnny kills someone, but it was done in heroism. Dally is a hero. However, a hero does not have to be a perfect person, they can do bad things sometimes.

Ponyboy is a hero because he saved the children from the burning church. He risked his own life for someone else because he believed they deserved to live. He is also always there for the rest of the greasers when they need help. “I picked up a kid…and he promptly bit me, but I leaned out the window and dropped him as gently as I could to save him”.(page 93)

    To begin with, Johnny proves he is a hero throughout the story. First, he acts like a hero during the fire. Anyone who will risk themselves to save others is a hero at that moment. "In the back, I guess," I hollered, and we started stumbling through the church."
