Personal Narrative: Why I Got In Trouble For Yelling
Yesterday I was going to order my first computer but I got in trouble for “Yelling” at my coach/grandpa even though I can’t even remember raising my voice once at him so I wasn’t allowed to. So now I have to wait a while for my parents anger to cool down, and for me to become ungrounded to order it myself (also include the time I have to wait to get paid, but that’s like tonight so that doesn’t really matter.) because I can almost guarantee that they are not going to pay for some of it anymore. I also am confused if this was a real thing, because one, I can’t even remember yelling at him. And two, my parents were never supportive in the idea of me having my own computer in my room, so I’m not sure if they are using this as an excuse to

So I was stuck with my parents old ragged Samsung Galaxy S3. The next week we went to Colorado for a family vacation to Keystone Colorado. About the only good thing that came out of me going to jail was meeting this guy named Lev. He was a skinny guy that did not look like he committed a vicious crime. He didn’t he was in jail for looting a dead German on Voinova Street. He was really rude when I tried to make company, but I could understand why because at times like these you can’t trust anyone. I asked him if he was a Jew and he did not appreciate that, because he thought I looked like a Nazi, but after he found I wasn’t he was ok with the question. I gave him some sausage because I figured he would be hungry. We both were wondering why they didn’t shoot us because that was the punishment for both of our measly little crimes. For my norm violation, I decided to go out into a public place and briefly interact with complete strangers. To achieve this, I decided to simply say hi to individuals as they passed by me. In picking my location, I wanted to be somewhere with a lot of foot traffic. Ultimately, I decided to go to Fred Meyer on a Saturday, when I knew it would be busier, and start saying hi to unsuspecting shoppers. Even though this was a minor norm violation, it still made me feel very uncomfortable. Each time I went to speak I became nervous and scared people would respond to me negatively. After pushing through the awkwardness, however, and saying hello to large handful of people, I seemed to be getting a handful of the same reactions. People would either…

Each and everyday people walk the halls of this school. You see people walking on the streets in their neighborhood. They are all walking forward. Why? That is what is normal. We have been doing it this “normal” way since humans could walk. Baby's first learning to walk don't walk backwards do they? No, they are biologically programmed to move forward. I wanted the breaking of my norm to be obvious. What better way than to walk backwards and go “against the crowd”.…

When we arrived to the store, my dad was already irritated at me from the car ride there. We walked into the store and my dad set me loose. I was running around the store, looking at books and inappropriately commenting on them, shouting all of the thoughts that came to my mind while catching some dirty looks from the other customers walking around the store. I returned to my dad and before we left, I asked him for one of root beers from the cafe. He would not let me have one, so I went where no man had gone before, I yelled at my dad in the middle of the store, creating a scene for the whole to…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…

Most of my friends’ parents would say: “ She is way to young for that. My kid is not getting a phone till she enters high school.” My parents, on the other hand, disregarded what other parents had said and thought it was a great idea and an opportunity for me to earn their trust. It was also an opportunity for me to show responsibility. My Mom and Dad told me a few dozen times, “This is a huge responsibility to have your own cell phone.” Having a phone at such a young age along with more rules that I was not sure I was ready for, such as: keep your phone on loud at all times, make sure you answer our calls the first time we call, be sure to charge your phone every night, and lastly do not lose it. My parents also told me: “If you break any of the rules that we gave you, me or your dad will take your cell phone away for a week.” My worse fear was that I would forget to charge my phone or even worse, miss a call from my parents. Thankfully, I never broke any of the rules that they gave me so I never had my phone taken away. Since I did not break the rules. I was soon rewarded with another new phone. It was the Motorola Razor. It was pink, of course, my favorite color and it was the “it” phone at the time. I loved that phone! Two years went by and soon I was rewarded with a brand new white iPhone for Christmas. With it came a phone case and a note. The note said: “Always keep this case on the phone at all times. If I see it with out a case I will take it from you and you will not get it back for 2 months.” I thought that was an easy rule to follow since the case was so cute I would not want to take it off but, all my friends soon got iPhone 4s and they did not have cases on them and I liked the way their phones looked, so I took my case off. When I got home from school, however, I would immediately put the case back…
