يدرب هذا المقرر الطلاب على التمييز بين النطق الصحيح والنطق غير الصحيح للأصوات الإنجليزية قبل الشروع في تطوير مهارات النطق عندهم. بالإضافة إلى تعامله مع أجزاء الكلام، فإن المقرر يتعامل مع السواكن والمتحركات، نبرات الصوت، الإيقاع، والتنغيم. تعد التمارين المسجلة لاستماع الطلاب جزء أساسي وحيوي لهذا المقرر.
This course trains the students to distinguish between correct and incorrect pronunciation of the English sounds, before proceeding to develop their pronunciation skills. In addition to the production of speech sounds, the course deals with vowels, consonants, stress and intonation. The recorded drills form an integral part of the course. الكتب المقررة والمراجع
