OJT Experience
Summary of the OJT Training
It’s been a month since I started my On-the-Job-Training here at PLDT Las Piñas. Far from being a student, my daily routine has been changed into something unusual for me. I have to wake up early in the morning, prepare myself for the long day ahead, and give out the best upon my working hours. I will be working here for 486 hours. And within those five - six days I already learned a lot of things, more than what I expected. I came to realize the importance of on-the-job training to a students’ life. Aside from the training that I got, it’s the experience and learning that I acquired and will be gaining for the upcoming days which made it more essential.
How did I apply to this company? It was so hard, there’s a lot of process that you need to get through. First I went to the PLDT Las Piñas were I passed my resume. Then on the next day, I went to PLDT Muntinlupa were the commander of the PLDT Las Piñas said that I need to pass my resume to Muntinlupa because they are not accepting any resume from ojt. So I went there and gave all the ojt’s requirements, then Mr. Causon the manager of PLDT signed the paper that I gave to him and he also gave me a letter which I should present to the main branch of PLDT in Mandaluyong so that I can get my official ID for my ojt. After a few days, I went to Mandaluyong at early in the morning. The process that I’ve been through was more than an hour because there are also some students from other school who will be doing also their ojt in PLDT. And after a long waited, I already got my ID for my ojt.
As I remember, it was 19th of November where I started my OJT. I was so nervous on that day because it’s my first time to work on a company and PLDT was a big company. I know that some of the students are already has an experiences (part time job) when it comes to work, unlike me. I don’t know what work is waiting for me there. Then I remember that I and my co-ojt were wearing office attires as being formal for our first day. But then they said that we are not required to wear an office attire, casual attire will do. After we introduced ourselves to them they already explained to us the rules and regulations inside the office. After the introductions, they already discussed to us of what work are we going to do in our 3 months of training. They gave us two to three days to be familiarized to their work. At first it was so hard to understand what our trainer was talking about but when they already letting us to do our first actual, I already got the logic of how their work works. At first I don’t know if I can do it properly because I’m really nervous on that day but of course I’m trying to do all the best that I can on the 2nd day of my training. I was trying to memorize all the important things that I need. While I’m on my 2nd day of training, the words that kept on my mind on that time was “I need to do it faster and has a better output” so that I can have a good performance to them. And I’m so glad that they liking my performances in my training. I’m really happy that time that they are praising my performances even though the work there was not quite easy but I did it with my determination just to have a better output.
What I do in my ojt was filing the details of a phone number to MS Excel and after that I put also the details to the back-up (other computer using command prompt). The hardest part of my work that I did in my ojt was repairing of the dial tone or the DSL of the subs (customers) with the command of the contractor (repair man outside the office) we called it as Talk and Pair. The talk and pair is where you will talk to the contractors who are in the outside of the building and who faces the customer when there’s a repair. And while I don’t have work or repair I received calls from the contractors where they getting the information of the phone number of the subs (customer). In PLDT they called their system as Clarity that all the information of the phone number or the customers are saved.
My ojt was so fun and I gain a lot of experiences there. I also loved how the workers accompanied their ojt’s. I liked how they care about their ojt’s. I know and they know that we (co-ojt) work in their company without allowances so sometimes they gave us a treat like they treating us lunch or a snacks just to show us that they appreciated are work. I know not some OJTs are as lucky as I am. Not all have a wonderful experience, and that’s the bitter truth. Sometimes some are hired just to do some sort of stuff, worst of all, is when they’re tasked to do things which are not totally related to their course. It became worst in the sense that they will never have the chance to grow, to explore and discover themselves, and to gain experiences which will serve as their guidance in stepping into the real world. The opportunity to have the best experience that every trainee wished to have became unreachable for them.
OJT is more than what it means. It’s the set of training, learning and the most important ingredients of all, the experience. Just like what a famous quote says, “Experience is the best teacher”. And nothing compares to the knowledge that it can give to us. It may be hard at first, but once we learn to appreciate and love what we’re doing, it became easier and easier every day.
There are three things that I realized while I’m on my training. First, I realized that it’s not easy to have a job and to be an employee. As I observe there, they need to encounter a lot of problems and they need to solve it right away. But when they are having a hard time, they still enjoying their works. Second, I realized that it’s really hard to have your own money; you need to work hard for it. Unlike for being a student, you all need to do is to spend your money for nothing or some others just budgeting it but they don’t know how hard to get that. It’s never like that anymore when you have your own work or as we can say when you already in a real world. And last but not the least; I realized that it’s really important to a worker to love their job first because if you don’t want or like what you are doing in your work, you’re making your life miserable. Your making you’re self-stressed and you will always feel bored and lazy in your working hours. You have to enjoy it so that you will have a happy life because work or job will be part of your life forever and ever. So be it, enjoy it.

Medical Malpractice Insurance is a necessity for healthcare providers. We tell people that health insurance is a necessity, why? Because it covers them if something unexpected happens, well that reasoning goes for providers also. It helps to cover a situation that isn’t necessarily supposed to happen, but does. Providers are normally well trained, but as we all know the body and medicine can do funny things and what was to be a “routine” surgery or illness has now caused a disfigurement in someone or even possibly a death. Although the definition of medical malpractice is defined as more than just an “accident” it is defined as an act or omission by a health care provider which deviates from accepted standards of practice in the medical community and which causes injury to the patient. Simply put, medical malpractice is professional negligence that causes an injury.…
