My Dream Job
My Dream Job Ever since I was young I loved to play video games. Playing video games increased my interest in video game design. I already know having an interest in video games and knowledge about computers helps while becoming a video game designer. I hope to gain knowledge about their role in creating a video game, what they do daily, and their income.

Most video game designer jobs require a bachelor’s degree. Many colleges and universities offer classes, certificates and advanced degrees in areas like computer programming, computer engineering, software development, computer animation and computer graphics. Earning accredited training in these areas will show a potential employer you are serious about your chosen field.

Video game designers with less than three years of experience earned an average of $48,000 per year. Average wages increased to $62,000 yearly from three to six years and jumped to an annual $77,000 after six years of experience. The work environment is casual and creative. Video game designers and programmers work in a highly creative environment. It is a very fast paced work environment that is both very demanding and exciting. A career in video game design can offer comfortable wages to cover house, insurance, credit card bills, etc.

Shigeru Miyamoto is a Japanese video game designer who created popular video games like Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros, and Nintendo video games of the 1980s and 1990s. He is considered as one of the video game industry's great pioneers. Miyamoto was only 24 when he became a staff artist of the Nintendo company in 1977. In 1981, Donkey Kong was a breakout game in the early era of video games, and it introduced Miyamoto's most popular signature character, Mario. Miyamoto's creative influence and his signature mix of playful fantasy and humor spread as Nintendo increased into home video games and hand-held video game systems
