How I Spent My Holidays
Last winter, with my family I had gone to Shimla for holidays. That was a very memorable moment for me. It was a three day vacation in Shimla.
With my parents, my brother and one of my cousin had gone. It was winter of December and we went northwards to north it became cold.
It was very enjoyable in the toy train and was very exciting. The roads were wide and the train was slow. The hills were beautiful. We were going up in the Himalayas. Below it was lush green, with some terrace cultivation and some forests , and above the lofty Himalayas, with snow peaks.
It took us almost 12 hours to reach Shimla from New Delhi. I was tired and took a nap. Suddenly my cousin, Neha woke me up. It was evening, she insisted me to see outside. Wow ! it was very beautiful. It was very bright. All the bulbs were on. It seemed to me like heaven. I felt good and all my tiredness was gone.
At 8 0’ clock in the evening , we reached Shimla. It was very cold. My father had booked a hotel. We took our dinner and slept. It was very cold. My mother had put three blankets and I slept quite well due to the tiredness.
By 7 a. m. we woke up. It was very cold so the water pipes were jammed, so we had to finish our work with little water. The morning sun was soothing , and the buttered Aloo Parathas for breakfast was delicious. We had hired a taxi to go to Kufri. Last night there was snow fall and Kufri was very beautiful to see.
It took us one hour to reach Kufri. Suddenly I felt cold in my face and saw ice flakes for the very first time and had only seen on television and felt ecstatic. We hired gum boots to walk in the snow. As we got up the snow increased. It was thrilling and had never seen so much of snow except in a refrigerator! All the surroundings were covered with blanket. We played there, throwing snow balls to each other. Neher and I tried to meet snow man but in vain.
After one hour enjoying the scenic beauty of Kufri we returned back to our hotel. We stayed in Shimla two more

The scalding screech of the snow stretched out in an endless fog. The weather has remained a thick blanket of snow for the last week or so, and our food rations were painstakingly low. We’ve been traveling for 93 hunbs already, and we still haven’t reached suitable location for settling. As I sit here near the flicker of the magikó fos that has kept our thawj warm, lit the night and protected us from the dangerous trómoi of the wild, I stared out into the night sky and subconsciously reverted back to that night, the night. . . .I remember every vivid detail, from the shouts of defiance to the threats and insults, screamed without a second thought. The split. Half of us headed one way, the other another. The night where the decision…

Ultimately, the car ride felt like a lifetime with nothing to look at out the window. The drive on the way there consisted of small town, sugar cane fields, orchid farms, and mango groves. Even though we drove through the night, the anticipation of what awaited us in the morning did not allow me to get any rest. The timing of our…

Morning exactly at 5 a.m. we reached Kushalnagar. The sky was quite dark; showing the clear sign of heavy rain. The very next day I made my way towards the Chobhar hill where lots of people come for a walk and to witness the majestic sunrise. The serenity of this morning was addictive. I found myself actually enjoying this moment. Suddenly, a little girl who was playing around the pine tree lost her balance and fell on the ground. I quickly rushed to her rescue. I asked her was she okay and she just smiled. “Thank you so much Sir!!! She is a naughty child.” came a voice from behind me. He was the little girl’s father. Like his daughter I just smiled at him. He too smiled back. In the next few minutes I noticed how glad they both were. The sun came up above the horizons. It was splendid. I felt the rays were illuminating every bit of my soul. I can't lie, I was happy and this time I had already got all my…
