It also showed that party organizations are highly responsive to the contours of new redistricting plans, and they incorporate this information when deciding which candidates to support financially. In career legislatures, where constituency manipulation is central to redistricting strategy, party organizations focus on districts whose boundaries have been drastically reconfigured, while in springboard legislatures, money flows to districts whose partisan composition has changed significantly. This study is somewhat limited in that it focuses on the most highly observable outputs of party finance and redistricting: direct financial contributions and the physical geography of districts. Looking at the percentage of constituency change can also be a blunt instrument in analyzing the changes districts undergo during the redistricting…

The United States Constitution provides the structure of our legislative body. It gives us a bicameral legislature. This means that we have two chambers; the House of Representatives and the Senate. Constituency careers pursue the goal of reelection, while Washington careers pursue the goals of influence in the House and the making of good public policy. When a House member is at the stage of a constituency career, they will most likely leave their families at home, and only be thinking about the goal of reelection. First-term members get to go home more frequently then their senior colleagues, however, most have not been a congressman yet. The first two years are spent getting reelected while the last two years are spent getting a district so they can be reelected. What is meant by congressman is being able pursue goals that go above and beyond just getting reelected. This seems like a viscous cycle due to the fact that a House member’s…

Going to college is a great step in life for a lot of us, but things now-a-days keep getting more expensive and many families don’t have the finances to afford it. We come to the one and probably the only option that is financial aid. Financial aid helps more than two thirds of the students, and some of them don’t use it the way they’re supposed to; some abuse the financial aid system and lie on the application so they can get money. Thanks to financial aid students have the opportunity to study in college and be able to earn a degree, but there are students that take advantage of it. I believe that financial aid system should be reconstructed as well as more security procedures should be added to the applications.…

The representatives are chosen will handle their selected places and listen to any problems or issues that are rising from that state or region. In that case, any issues that are brought up must be through the representatives first. If the issue can be solved by the representative itself, it can only be solved there and there’s not a need to bring the issue to a higher level of authority. Other than that, they will also try to handle the interest of that particular area. For example, a case on room capacity for a mosque in a certain area that is not enough for the population there. The citizens are complaining and voicing out so that they can have a new mosque, therefore it is the job for the representatives to solve the issues there.…
