Doodle How To Walk Analysis

The ability of persevering will help when facing a problem. The narrator is determined to teach Doodle how to walk. In the text, the narrator tried teaching Doodle how to walk for many week until one thing was accomplished, standing for a few seconds. When Doodle learned how stand without needing help, both of the brothers were filled with joy (Hurst). After spending almost the whole summer at Old Woman Swamp, trying to walk, “Finally one day, after many weeks of practicing, he stood alone for a few seconds”(Hurst 467). The narrator being patient and teaching him for not only a day, but for weeks shows that he believes that he can get Doodle to walk. It establishes the thought in readers that the narrator doesn’t give up on something easily.
