Condoms: Sexual Intercourse and Male Latex Condom
Condom is a type of birth control (contraceptive) that is worn during intercourse to prevent pregnancy and the spread of some sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and HIV. The male condom is a barrier contraceptive made of latex or polyurethane. It’s also made out of animal skin in which it does not protect against the spread of infections, Latex rubber. The condom must be fitted over the erect penis. The male condom is a thin cover that fits over a man 's erect penis. Condoms are available without a prescription and are inexpensive. You can buy them at most drugstores, in vending machines in some restrooms, by mail order, and at certain health care clinics. A condom blocks sperm from coming in contact with the inside of the vagina, where it could reach an egg. If a condom is used regularly and correctly, it prevents pregnancy of 97% out of the time, and prevents the spread of most STDs. The actual effectiveness among users, however, is only 80 - 90%. This is due to break in condom due to manufacturing problem, failure to use a condom during each act of intercourse, occasional tear of a condom during intercourse, Semen spilling from a condom during withdrawal, and waiting too long to put a condom on the penis before its comes into contact with vagina . Another name for condoms is rubbers, safes, or jimmies. This topic is very important to study because people are having sex without use any type of protections and are haven unwanted pregnancy especially teen girls. People also are dying from HIV and STD’s. Evidence shows if used consistently and correctly, the male latex condom is an effective contraceptive that no systemic side-effects and is an effective means of protection against STDs, including the human immune deficiency virus (HIV) that causes AIDS.
Most women and men can use condoms with no problem. Condoms have no side effects except for people who are allergic to latex. If you are allergic to latex, you can use
