Compare And Contrast Race And Ethnicity

Many people do not know the differences between race and ethnicity. Race is defined by the physical characteristics, while ethnicity is by the nationality or cultural region. I define race as something that separates people. I do not like to even use race to define myself because I begin to be characterize by it. Race is a factor that was used back in the days to make the differences in people. Race made people realize that they are different than the one other person. Race begin to be have a social constructed on people. I have a little sister who is what you call a light skin black girl and I am called a dark skin black girl. People would tell me that my sister is prettier than me because she is light skin. My sister was always called the pretty sister and I was always called the ugly sister. I allow society to tell me whether or not I am a beautiful girl. When society starting comparing to my sister, I began to down myself. I began to uplift people and tell them that they are beautiful. I would tell them to not let anyone to tell that they are not, but I did not believe it for myself. I began to feel that Society made me feel that it is acceptable to be called the ugly girl because my skin color, but in reality it was never okay. I feel that it is never okay to call someone out of something they can’t control. People do not have the choice to decide what race they are going to be in their lifetime. The problem with social constructionist is that they make people’s faults something to always worry about.
All it means is that I am not what most of the united states is. Lets say there is a pie graph. The green color represents white people and the green represents the other race in the United States that are not white people. The pie graph is colored 60% green and 40% blue. I would be in the blue because most of the population in the United states is in the
