In the modern day global economy characterized by free trade, the government has limited power when it comes to influencing how consumers view an industry or even discriminate against certain products (Findlay & Warren, 2013). Nonetheless, the purpose of this paper is to explore if it’s ethical for the public, or rather the consumers to view all industries differently. Also, as an advocate for the consumers, I will provide arguments concerning the reasons as to why I do not believe that some industries are unfairly targeted, such as in the case with the fast food industry. The paper will also reconnoiter the ins and outs of why consumers should partake in choosing what’s best for them, including the roles played by capitalism in corporate decision-making. Finally, I will offer reasons as to why it’s possible for a company to cater for both its best interest and that of the consumer.
Become an advocate for either the consumer or the industry. Prepare an argument explaining the major reasons why you support either the consumer or the industry.
It’s ethical for a consumer not to view all industries as equal because in actual sense they’re very different in terms of the products and services they offer. They’re entitled individual liberty to choose the industry that best suits their interests in terms of product and service safety, affordability, satisfaction, and availability of competing goods and services (Rydell, 2013). Additionally, I believe that some industries are not unfairly targeted because consumers make their choices based on cost benefit analysis, or rather by applying the utilitarian and Kantian approach to ethical decision making. This approach also explains why it should be the responsibility of a consumer to avoid products that are not healthy for them. For instance, they should focus their attention on products whose benefits to their health outweighs the harm as described by

For many years, Company Q's customers have been requesting health conscience and organic products sold at Company Q’s stores. The company's efforts to provide this for its customers have been weak at best. The company's management has the ethical duty to be positively reactive to its customers requests, so long as those requests are not illegal, immoral, irresponsible or unethical. Since requests are for products that benefit the health of customers,…

Although the Chicago World's fair of 1893 only lasted 6 months, I had an enormous impact on the city of Chicago, its people, and indeed the entire country. Up until that point in its history, the US had done nothing on the scale of the world's fair, and was regarded as a country of barbarians and cowboys by much of the world, especially Old Europe. The fair was a perfect way for the US to disprove this. In building the fair, they would be placed in direct competition with France, who had built a magnificent fair only a few years before. If Chicago could at least build a fair on par with the Paris fair, it would prove to the world that the US was a cultural, military and political force to be reckoned with. Because of the fair's gigantic scale, it became a microcosm of the conflicts and the tenor of the times.…

Because of the fair's gigantic scale, it became a microcosm of the conflicts and the tenor of the times. In effect, the fair was the turning point between the old Victorian days and the modern era, technologically, culturally, politically, and in the hearts of the people of the US and the world.…

Since the fair was introduced, the reader could predict the immensity and great work of this attraction. Not only were many new inventions created, but also many ideas were inspired by this fair. Because of the great success and its original ideas, I believe that the World’s Fair “had a powerful and lasting impact on [Chicago’s, the world’s and] the nation’s psyche.”…

Thesis: The initial intent of the World Fair was to simply celebrate the four hundredth anniversary of Columbus’s discovery of the New World by hosting a world’s fair. America’s pride in its growing power and international stature had fanned patriotism to a new intensity. The nation needed an opportunity to top the French, in particular to “out-Eiffel Eiffel.”…

    Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is amongst the longest and most suffering in history. This is not a one sided issue, it is a conflict that stems from both sides. It has made refugees of a large number of Palestinians, which is also one of the key issues in achieving a lasting peace between Palestinians and the state of Israel. In order to discuss the current Israeli-Palestinian crisis it is important to first understand how this problem arose. The main focus of the problem is found in both sides claiming to have rights to the same small area of land. From that claim, further problems have since risen, such as the refugee crisis, terrorist acts, and the arguments over the outcome of the holy city of Jerusalem. With both sides refusing to compromise, and terrorist extremists within each group. With both sides committing morally questionable acts against one another, it continues to further complicate the peace process. Unless we can achieve a resolution that satisfies both sides, peace between the two states may never be reached. A two state solution is the best and most reasonable solution in this situation.…
