Aprille Ericsson-Jackson Research Paper
Did you know that Aprille Ericsson-Jackson was the first African American woman to get a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the one any only Howard University? She also was the first African American female to receive a Ph.D. in Engineering at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

I think Aprille is a great roll model because she put her mind to the test and went away to collage to get a good job to support herself and even her family. I like how it seems like she strive to be the best and I want to be like that too.

Do you know that Mechanical Engineering are things like Ultrasounds? An ultrasound is a Monitor like screen which a pregnant woman can see her unborn baby develop. You lay on your back and the nurses or Doctor put jell on your stomach and use a transducer to see the baby.

I personally want to be a pediatrician when I get older. I love working with small children and I've wanted to be a doctor and work with medicine and healing people a large period of my life. I truly look up to my doctors that have helped me over time. I want to be honored like I honor them.

I believe Aprille helped me as a role model expand my ideas for my profession when I get older. I've only had my mind set on being just a regular pediatrician, I never look at what can come with that.
