Microorganisms are tiny, small living things which can not be seen with eyes. They spread everywhere around the world. Most people think that microorganisms are harmful to the environment. Humans exploit these small living things hundreds of years ago. Science has developed and scientists have established new science related to microorganisms, it is called microbiology. In this essay, I will talk about one of the oldest and most widespread microorganisms in our planet, bacteria. Bacteria lives everywhere, in air, hot springs, and in our bodies. Some bacteria are harmful and some of them are helpful. Biologists use helpful bacteria in several ways. In my essay, I will focus on some uses of bacteria in medicine, environment, and industrial. Bacteria contains many distinctive characteristics that makes it very important for the environment. It is considered one of the basic decomposers in the environment because bacteria analyzes dead organisms and converted to simple organic compounds which is essential for plants to manufacturing new foodstuffs. In addition, to rid the environment from the accumulated corpses. Furthermore, bacteria used to get rid of waste from factories and homes that includes heavy toxic elements such as lead and mercury, which cause great risks to the environment and living organisms. But the existence of bacteria helps to convert these heavy elements to an organic compound which called methane. Methane is safe for the environment, and it uses as an energy source in wide range. Additionally, Scientists were able to combat marine pollution by a biological solution, using some types of bacteria that have the ability to absorb oil spills. Also, they found that some types of bacteria for example, Pseudomona, Arthrobacteria and Cornybacteria can transfer oil slicks to droplets of water. As well, bacteria plays a significant role in the process of atmospheric nitrogen fixation, and that leads to increased soil fertility and production.

    Bacteria are organisms that are extremely copious upon this planet. They are tiny and most are single celled organisms that can survive in just about any environment. Anywhere from plants to the human body is where these organisms can be discovered. Some of the strangest places that support bacterial life include places that have extremes of temperature. These bacteria are also very strange, much different from bacteria found living in and around humans. For example bacteria that live in extreme cold, like the North Pole, use methane as their substrates; and the ones that live in the deep sea use hydrogen sulphide.     Microbiology is a field of science which typically is divided into several areas such as: bacteriology, virology, parasitology and immunology. The goal of microbiology is to increase the specific knowledge of a known microorganism and by extension counter the spread of harmful microorganisms and to learn practical applications of research results. A microbiologist studies the structure, metabolism, genetics and ecology of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or algae. A microbiologist also studies in the relationships of these organisms among themselves and how they coincide with their environment during the time in which he is studying them he is also taking notes on the ways that certain organism react because the specific reactions could benefit our every day lives or even help to fight other harmful microorganisms or diseases. Most microbiologists enjoy biology and enjoy working in a concrete way with precision instruments to avoid contaminating their studies. A microbiologist's main job is studying bacteria's nature and characteristics by classifying and isolating the bacteria cultures to make a chemical and biological analysis of the behavior. He must also prepare reports, publish the results, and possibly even observe the work of a team that is participating in scientific meetings.…
