Never shall I forget those moments that murmured my God and my soul and turned my dreams to ashes.” This depressed quotation comes from a Elie Wiesel, the man who tries to influence public to hear victims’ voice with his wisdom, courage, knowledge and love, and is well known and respected for his significant contributions in respect to the Holocaust and world humanities. As the author of Night, he is the victim of war as well. He used to be deported to concentration camp and lost his most loved people there, but he still decided to record his experiences as a prisoner in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps as a book. I used to think that family is people’s most valuable treasure in the world, no matter how cruel the events which are happening outside the home, the firm connection of family members can never be disturbed. I have realized something goes wrong after reading Night, there is a place called concentration camp and a group called Nazi can instantaneously destroy the our strongest refuge in the world. The thing which gives me a heart attack is that your closest family member can turn from your protection into a horrible monster under a extreme suffering circumstance.War can tore integrated family apart over one night in longest distance--life and death. I see people who come from the same nationality and have same region are fighting for a bite of bread until there is only one person is still alive; I see the relationship between father and son are breaking into pieces; I see people being treated like unliving
