Plains Indians

PLAINS INDIANS
The American Plains Indians are among the best known of all Native Americans. These Indians played a significant role in shaping the history of the West. Some of the more noteworthy Plains Indians were Big Foot, Black Kettle, Crazy Horse, Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, and Spotted Tail.
Big Foot
Big Foot (?1825-1890) was also known as Spotted Elk. Born in the northern Great Plains, he eventually became a Minneconjou Teton Sioux chief. He was part of a tribal delegation that traveled to Washington, D.C., and worked to establish schools throughout the Sioux Territory. He was one of those massacred at Wounded Knee in December 1890.
Simple life and peaceful mind are very close friends!”
Well actually there are many advantages to a simple life and many benefits to keeping things as quiet as possible. For one it's very good for your health: as you aren't rushing around from one event to another you won't be tiring yourself out, and as you are eating healthy and light meals you'll be keeping your body well fuelled and steering clear of foods that could cause heart problems or high blood pressure.
On top of that you'll also be able to keep a clean and tidy home by giving yourself lots of time and by not having too much that you need to keep on top of. This will help you to stay healthier because your property will be mor...

Most people would expect Fast Food chain restaurants to be a happy, convenient, inexpensive, and quick place to pick up a meal. The decision to stop for fast food, is made on spur of the moment, without much thought. The vast majority of customers do not set out to eat at a Burger King, Wendy’s, or McDonalds. Often, they’re not even planning to stop for food until they see a big sign, a familiar building, and set of golden arches. Fast food, like the tabloids at ...

I believe that John Proctor is the tragic hero in the play “The Crucible.” I feel that his tragic flaw is the reason he became the tragic hero. He was trying to win back the trust of his wife and to do this he became the hero. By showing he was a good and decent person, this exemplifies he is a tragic hero. I see to prove his love and dedication to Elizabeth that John would do anything she told him to, in a way to win her trust back. He didn’t want the law to take her away, when she was suspected of witchcraft. He begged them not to take her and not t...

The Burnell’s three daughters are given a doll’s house from their houseguest, Mrs. Hay. The three girls, Isabel, Lottie, and Kezia find this doll house to be awesome, and are excited to tell their friends about it at school. Kezia finds the most exciting part of the house to be the lamp because it looked real. At school, the Burnells are surrounded by their peers discussing the new toy, however two girls sit at the outskirts of the circle listening to their conversation. The two listening were the Kelvey girls, Lil and “our” Else. These two girls are shunned from the conversation because they are a...

the interrelationship of the sub-markets is a salient characteristic of mass
media. Even though this interrelationship is not an exclusive characteristic of
media markets, they are surely an important example for this phenomenon.
The deciding feature of interrelated markets is the interdependency of the
respective demands. An increment of the demand for, say, newspapers also results
in an increasing demand for advertising. In contrast to standard complementary

Why is it that Othello places ultimate trust in Iago’s accusations instead of enquiring of Desdemona her “infidelity”? Is it Iago’s sadistic nature or does it, in fact, lie with Othello himself?
Obvious reasons are put forward to explain the above question: It was Iago’s malicious meanderings that overwhelmed Othello; it was Othello’s innocence, his brutish nature and lack of emotional intelligence that led to his tragic end.
I believe, by referring to the design of the play, that one person simply cannot be to blame. Without Iago there would be no Othello and vice versa. I see it that Othello’s demise can be attributed to both himself an...

Introduction
A flash of green and red, the Ruby-throated Hummingbird is eastern North America’s sole breeding hummingbird. These brilliant, tiny, precision-flying creatures glitter like jewels in the full sun, then vanish with a zip toward the next nectar source. Feeders and flower gardens are great ways to attract these birds, and some people turn their yards into buzzing clouds of hummingbirds each summer (Unknown, n.d). Ruby-throats are intensely inquisitive and thus easily attracted to feeders, where males in particular typically display aggressive territoriality toward rival hummers, other birds,...

Analyzing Effective Leaders: Why Extraverts Are Not Always the Most Successful Bosses

Conventional wisdom tells us that leaders are the men and women who stand up, speak out, give orders, make plans and are generally the most dominant, outgoing people in a group. But that is not always the case, according to new research on leadership and group dynamics from Wharton management professor Adam Grant and two colleagues, who challenge the assumption that the most effective...

That means that every six hours, a child dies because of some form of maltreatment. Child abuse is a serious problem facing families in the United States. To prevent child abuse, United States citizens need to be well informed of all aspects of child abuse.

To solve the very serious issue of child abuse, the definition needs to be clear so that United States citizens can help.
