India is a country known for its rich culture and heritage. It has also seen some of the oldest civilizations of the world like harappa and Mohen-jo-daro which date back to approximately five to six thousand years. It is a land that has seen the earliest thoughts of mankind in the form of Vedas, Upanishads. India has witnessed mythological epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat too. It has given birth to religions like Jainism, Buddhism, Sikkhism and Hiduism which, till date, exist in this great country in peace and unity. India has been the birth place of many of the world’s greatest leaders, like Mahatma Gandhi, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh and many who sacrificed their lives for the love of their country. Mahatma Gandhi also influenced the entire world with his ideologies and a great leader like Karl Marx also drew reference and inspiration from Gandhi. Politicians like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi changed the face of Indian politics. Apart from this India is homeland to the Himalayas which is, without a doubt the greatest mountain range exisiting today. The Taj Mahal, is a perfect example of love potrayed by Shah Jahan to his wife Mumtaz and is one of the wonders of the world. India today is looked at with respect and is considered as the next superpower alongside China. Though we continue to be held back by poverty, over population, illiteracy and corruption we are making huge strides forward in finance, aviation, science and technology. Companies all across the globe want to set up their companies in India. Our IT services are best in the world. Indian companies are now buying other MNCs across the globe and this has helped change the way the world looked at India in the past. Even in the field of sports India has achieved notable success by winning gold medals at the Olympics, something that India had never ever achieve
