Q1. Amazon utilizes several strategies that serve to boost its venture in the global market. Multi-level electronic commerce strategy is one of the strategies used by Amazon. With this strategy, Amazon is able to focus on business-to-consumer relationship of itself as the company and its customers, business-to-business relationship between the company and its suppliers, and also customer-to-business transactions to cater for the product review descriptions. Further, under the multi-level sales strategy, the company also focuses on customer to customer Amazon marketplace where consumer to consumer transactions can occur. The company allows almost anyone to sell anything through its platform. Affiliate program that lets anybody post links Amazon and be paid a commission on click through the sales and even build their websites based on Amazon platform is also an additional thing that grants the Amazon company soft ground to expand its market (Frankel, M. E. S. 2013). Another strategy common with Amazon is the adoption of the affiliate marketing; Amazon Associates and third-party sellers. These associates sell their products on Amazon and receive commission for referring prospective customers to Amazon by placing links on their developed websites to Amazon. The only condition for receiving commission by the third-party sellers is that their referral must result in sales. The Associates have and advantage of accessing the Amazon catalog on their unique websites by utilizing the Amazon Web Service.
Amazon technology is another strategy that the company is capitalizing to up-scale its control of the market. Information Management (IM) and Customer Relation Management (CRM) solidly support Amazon business strategy. In the year 2005 Amazon boasted of having three largest Linux databases in the world.
