CONTINENTAL BISCUITS Ltd.
Continental Biscuits Limited (CBL) was founded in 1984 following a Joint Venture between the family of Hasan Ali Khan and the Group Danone, the French food giants. In the year 2007 Danone sold their biscuits category to Kraft Foods of USA. Today the company has a joint venture with Kraft Foods with a shareholding of 50.5% and 49.5% respectively. The basic motive was to establish a confectionary business was that Mr. Hassan Ali Khan the owner of CBL had his own floor mill which was located in Sukkar.He wanted to make best utilization of his floor mill so he contacted Danone to start the confectionary business in Pakistan. Having an edge of the floor the major raw material used in the manufacturing of cookies Danone formed a joint venture with Mr. Hassan Ali Khan.This partnership kept flourishing and in the year 2007 Kraft foods purchased the biscuit manufacturing from Danone,Kraft is a well known company of USA which has the major brands like Cadburry and currently Tang in Pakistan. The company personals usually visit Kraft Foods in Dubai to share various training programs. CORE PRODUCTS OF CONTINENTAL BISCUITS For more than two decades CBL is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of the brand LU. CBL has an array of products which are pre-eminent in the branded biscuit business both in Pakistan and abroad. CBL’s unrivalled portfolio of brands has been meeting consumer needs for well over two decades and includes such favorites as: 1. TUC 2. Candi 3. Prince 4. Tiger biscuits
VISION OF CBL Company vision is continued expansion in the biscuits manufacturing and marketing for not only meeting the local demand but to prepare for WTO and SAFTA by becoming capable of meeting the local and regional demand regional demand.
