Introduction:
In terms of HRM, the internet has radically changed the recruitment function from the organisational and job seekers ' perspective. Conventional methods of recruitment processes are readily acknowledged as being time-consuming with high costs and limited geographic reach. However, recruitment through World Wide Web (WWW) provides global coverage and easiness. Likewise, the speedy integration of the internet into recruitment processes is primarily recognised due to the internet 's unrivalled communications capabilities, which enable recruiters for written communications through e-mails, blogs and job portals.
Internet, which reach larger number of people and can get immediate feedback become the major source of potential job candidates and well known as online recruitment or E-recruitment. However, it may generate many unqualified candidates and may not increase the diversity and mix of employee.
E-RECRUITMENT In the era of globalization anyone who is interested in corporate world is aware of these sites.
Using internet prospective applicants could search for positions in which they were interested. Contact with employers directly is viable. Feasibility of email overruled the use of telephone, fax or mail and the companies started accepting application through email. Today Organizations have their own sites or job postings are given in the placement sites. Again the candidates can visit the sites, post resume, contact the company directly without any delay. All these are just one ‘click’ away. E-recruitment is a tool for many

    The first phase of recruitment is deciding on the need for personnel to fill current or future job openings. In business establishments, it is essential for a company to recognize whether an open or targeted recruitment strategy is effective, and to understand which one will succeed in meeting the company’s requirements.     It is important that the HR Professionals know how the system will work. In order for it to work correctly they will have to know how to monitor the system, and pull applicants resumes. They will also know how to put the ads in the system; in order for it to be cost effective it needs to be correctly. “The goal of recruitment is to indentify, attract and hire the most qualified people” (Casio, 2006). This must be kept in mind when having the online recruitment website.
