A Summary on Perseverance
“Perseverance is not a long race; its many short races one after another. Perseverance to me means that “never give up”. Everyone in this world once went through terrible times in their lives but they never gave up that’s called perseverance. I know many people who persevered in their life. If you look at their biography you will see that they were very successful because they never give up. Many people don’t have that much confident in them so they give up so easily. Well I also persevered in my life. I didn't give up at that time I wanted to give up but I was brave enough not to give up. “our greatest glory is not in never failing but, in raising up every time we fail by Ralph Emerson. “Fall seven times stand up eight” this quote stands for perseverance and as well as for Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Mr. Lincoln persevered by “NEVER GIVING UP”. Mr. Lincoln went through many troubles in his life but he persevered and become the 16th president of the United States of America. Mr. Lincoln’s life went through like this. In 1831 he failed in business but he didn't give u and tried again bidding for congress in 1843 but unfortunately he lost his bid for congress. In 1855 he tried again for the run of senate but he lost the run. Still he didn't give up later in 1856 he got elected for vice president but unluckily he got defeated for Vice President. Well because Mr. Lincoln persevered in his life so in 1860 Mr. Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of the United States. Mr. Lincoln was confident enough not to give up because he knew that one day he will success in his life and he did. He was brave and he had “STRONG Belief”. I also persevered in my life. I tried and tried until I reached my goal. When I came to us the first time I knew enough English to understand the teacher and work well but it was hard for me to adjust in a different in a different lifestyle well somehow I tried but failed. I didn't felt like trying again but my mom encouraged me to try and try hard

When reading Farewell to Manzanar and the two sources you can tell that there are many characteristics. But two that really stuck out to me are hope and perseverance. Without hope the characters in the book and the people in the sources that we read about would just give up and not persuit in their life. Also perseverance is important because in the camps they pushed through the rough times even though they were difficult. THESIS!!!…

Perseverance-steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. These three activists all contained perseverance in doing their duties. In the article, “The Winning Edge,” the author, Peter Doskoch, explains the reasons to persevere. When you start something, don’t stop until you reach success. Thomas Edison said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” (Doskoch, Pg. 161, Paragraph 3). Being successful doesn’t pay off if it’s easy. Some will give up because “it’s too hard.” Isn’t that where the joy of success comes from? If it’s easy, it’s not worth it. You also have to realize that nobody is perfect, no matter how hard they try to be. “The Winning Edge,” tells us how there is always more room for improvement. We are all human, and it is natural for us to make a couple mistakes here and there. The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes. Another point that “The Winning Edge” points out is that we should all learn to like what we do. When we make a crappy mistake and take a wrong turn in our lives, make the most out of it. Doskoch mentions that “Perseverance...can itself foster…

Beating something can require perseverance in many different ways. In The Call of the Wild, Buck is taken from his cozy home and put on a sled dog team. He fights with the lead dog, Spitz, often, until one time Buck finally beat him in a fight. On the other hand, my Gram went to college and took a speech class. She was afraid of speaking in front of a large group of people, so she used perseverance to help her control her decisions. While Buck and Gram are different, they were both afraid at one point and both beat a fear they had. Both Gram and Buck had to experience something new, whether it was fighting with another dog or going to college and talking in front of people.…

While my dad and Buck both endured pain and suffering they both got through it. Perseverance is a thing that everyone will have to do at some point in their life…

Lincoln started off on the bottom and climbed his way to the top. In 1860, Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States. He was never really a huge people person until he got the attention of many with his very well known, two minute speech in the Gettysburg Address. He tried to get the North to agree on the “new birth of freedom”. After his term was up, he ran again for President, thinking he would lose, he won.…

When we think we can't push anymore, we can push a little harder. When we think we're done, we're not. Our society has grown up under the impression that we aren't good enough, we're not strong enough, or we're not fast enough. So ever since I've heard that, I have pushed harder than I thought was possible, pushed past the limit. However at the same time it also personally impacts me because in the concentration camps they had to persevere, a lot. And I can relate a lot to perseverance because I have grown up swimming and the hard practices take a lot of perseverance. “Night” by Elie Wiesel teaches us all to persevere through the hard times and push ourselves past the limit. This is why I chose this…

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other,” states Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln was a self-made man who started out by helping his family around the farm to becoming the 16th president of the United States. As a presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Abraham Lincoln was opposed to the spread of slavery. The Republican Party promoted Lincoln as “Honest Abe Lincoln” and called for free land in the West, improved wages, and tariff increases to attract midwestern farmers, factory workers, and northern industrialists. One week after Lincoln had won the election, the southern states began seceding from the Union. His years as a president was tested by the Civil War between the North and…

Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.” This author demonstrates precisely what it means to persevere. Perseverance was an early Native American value and many people still consider this value to be critical today. Quitting was despised by Native Americans and still is by people currently.…

Perseverance is one of the main skill I have gained through my participation in Squaw Valley Snow Sports. Ski racing, as a whole, is filled with high and low moments, and I believe without the low moments one wouldn't appreciate the glorious highs. I apply this perspective throughout my whole life and use it to motivate myself to be a better student, athlete, and whole person. I am currently recovering from ACL surgery, and I am fairly positive that without SVSS I wouldnt not be as dedicated to returning to snow as strong as possible.…

But when we do not give up, at the end of the tunnel, there is always light, and it only benefits us. Sometimes we are put in tough situations our self, for example, a student may be doing badly on his/her tests and assignments, but instead of deciding to just drop out of school, if he or she has perseverance and persistence, he/she will continue to study harder, focus in class more, and ask for extra help. Eventually their hard work will pay off, and the student will start to accomplish higher grades on his/her tests and…
